I am follower the diet prescribed by Dr. McDougall/Dr. Essylstyn/ForksOverKnives etc.. for and I have already seen benefits in cholesterol reduction. My many thanks to all of you.

However, with regard very interesting video presentation on the site regarding How Did Steve Jobs die, I had some follow-up question on the analysis as well as some recommendations on what should have Steve Jobs done?

1. With regard to cancer growth rates - there appears to assumptions made about size of tumors when detected. How reliable are those assumptions. Also the fact that Mr. Jobs had gone through Liver transplant a couple of years before his death wasn't considered at all in that math. So I was surprised to so no accounting with regard to new liver which supposedly shouldn't be cancerous when this conclusion was reached that Mr. Jobs had Liver cancer when he was 28.

2. Dr. Mc Dougall said that those who said Steve Jobs should have had surgery earlier were wrong. Does Dr. McDougall believe that those have cancer tumors 1cm size shouldn't go through surgery and they can be cured by diet alone. Are there any cancer patients that should go through surgery ever at all?

3. I wasn't sure - what Steve Jobs according to Dr. McDougall could have done since he was already on a plant strong diet? How would Dr. McDougall would have treated him if Mr. Jobs had consulted with him? Does Doctor believe Steve Jobs would have lived longer if he had followed any different direction after being diagnosed with cancer in 2003? Does Dr believe Mr. Jobs shouldn't have had pancreatic cancer surgery in 2004?

Regards,
Sanjay

I don't think any of us can answer for Dr. McDougall! You should ask HIM those questions! :)

That said, cancer happens. Sometimes there's nothing you can do to prevent it, and we all do have to die from something. Just a fact!

ETeSelle:

First thanks for your comment. I meant to ask this question of Dr. McDougall directly. I wasn't sure where to post it. Is there an different forum or method that you suggest I should use to ask of Dr. McDougall?

Sincerely,

This forum is for asking questions of Star McDougallers--how we did it, etc.

Best way to hear directly from the doctor is to email him: drmcdougall@drmcdougall.com . You could also post this in the Lounge and see if Dr. McD sees it.
