Hi Jeff,

Is it OK to add some (11g) of blended flaxseed to my white rice meal with vegetables? It makes about 7% calories from fat. Does a little fat will influence the digestion of starch, for example lower GI, blood sugar response etc.?

Does overt and covert fat is the same functionally? For example white rice mixed with overt fat say flaxseed to make 8% resulting calories from fat and the same covert fat occurring naturally in Oats corresponding to about 8% calories of fat. How fat metabolism will differ from such meals?

I recommend you follow the guidelines and principles of the program, which are discussed in great detail in this forum.

White rice is not recommended.

Nuts and seeds are allowed in limited amounts.

Exceptions and deviations that you may choose to make are up to you and are not recommended or endorsed by me. :)

Jeff

Thanks for reply. Yes I know that white rice is not recommended. However I add 600g of the most nutritious vegetables for every 350-700 calories of white rice consumed. It is similar as from your "simple and affordable meal plan", only white rice versions with more veg.
Such a large amount of veg should greatly reduce the problems white rice has-increase fiber, nutrition and reduce glycemic response.
I really cannot eat brown rice, it sits like a brick into my stomach. On the other hand potatoes are too filling to get enough calories from them while including enough vegetables too. The only starch I digest best is white basmati rice as I have some digestive problems.

As my fat percentage for a meal is 3% I just want to know is it OK to mix in tiny amount of overt fat with starch. Does it interferes with digestion, absorbtion of nutrients etc?
