Glad to hear your virus has finally shipped out! Laugh when I see you using the self talk too - all the self talk going on with us is probably a huge noise. I think my lips move, when I go down the grocery aisle - but so far I haven't self talked out loud in public. Atleast, I don't think so....

Immggallagher thanks for stopping by, Yes I have to give myself a stern talking to and then I feel like such an addict!! I tend to to ridiculous manner of self talk, like when will I ever get it? I just cannot have that poison anymore, period. I cannot have it both ways, either way good digestion, or eat that candy!! all that sugar is simply going to give me a lot of gas, and runs to the bathroom, and why bother then? most peeps don't why do i then? will never be easy.. some days and weeks and months go by, and I am ok, then it will not be so! and slowly I into dry land again too...
Rosie, yes I know what you mean, it is so much more fun to be out and about on foot, then sitting on the ole keister and playing these computer games...
Right now the dog may be sick again, and was throwing up a lot for a day and now is resting, I wonder what is up, so it is to the vet today.... poor thing is not herself at all hopefully it is something easy to fix. She is about 7 yrs old so....... a rescue yorkie mix, and it has not been an easy adoption ever for her or us actually, bladder stone, so hard to train too, Usually so happy, so something is up for sure!
It was so cool to listen to this gramma talk about her dau and 3 grands and how they eat!! it was like looking in a mirror and thinking is that how my husband talks of me to? she said her dau has worn out the vita mix, and she can hear it going all the time over the phone since she is always making up something the kids are starving all the time. But they do eat rice beans, corn, etc, the kids, her dau is a raw vegan so no to that for her. I think it is terrific. I told her about Dr Mcdougall and that I am really a starchivore and must have my starches, too.
up too early again, with doggie, and she is now resting so I should too.

Hi Carollynne. Just been reading you journal. Congratulations on your son's upcoming nuptials! I also have a problem with sugar. The only things that works for me is to stay off it entirely. If I don't have it, I don't crave it. One little bite however, and I am gone! Stay Strong!

Hi Rosie, thanks for stopping by to say hi again. Spring is a nice time of year to be out and about for me. love it outside usually. Do not need to stay indoors now. and no need to rest my knee as much as before, Hrrray for that one too.
Maxie has an enlarged liver, but had normal livers counts so it may be nothing. after a bill of $200. etc etc, but she is going to be fine, I will need to watch everything she eats for sure, and told Dh not to feed her a thing. no treats, and watch that compost pile out in back too. only on a leash for now again...
Silver, Hi!! yeah the sugar monster has me in its grip as soon as I take that first nibble, I had to recognize it for what it is and stay away. and then now and then I do it anyway. talk about sabotaging myself. no more ever again I vowed again. 2 days with no added sugars. and I mean none.

rain today, and some areas near us, there was snow too. odd for this time of yr. What happened to the spring and summer weather we were having last few wks?
I did something today I thgt would never happen in my lifetime again.
I was at a store getting some new shirts for #2 sons's birthday and decided to try on a few pr of dressy kind of pants! the 16s were way too baggy, then the 14 were too, then the 12s were just too snug looking for an old lady like me! then I grabbed a pr of white capri kind of jeans and just held them up to my waist, and thgt they will fit. I was just to tired to go back into the dressing room, when I got home, I tried them on, and it was such a nice fit, 14 s! I am simply amazed by this... My goal once upon a time was to fit into 16 reg, not 16 W and these were 14 reg, and even said they were a bit below the waist and that is usually not for me. perhaps they are a generous cut and make, but I am very very happy! and I am on a roll with no candy at all and this is day for that. no candy, no cookies, etc. doing good with that goal! I do a lot of talking to myself and in my mind, it is a no brainer, why would I want to have any digestive disturbances in the tummy for a mere sugary bite?? so far so good! and DH is also doing good, with no ice cream !! he has been munching on the dates ..... better option is you ask me!

Hey Hey, 9 days off of all candies, and my mantra of self talk has worked, and I no longer seem to be craving it either. hahaha! take that you hunk of nothing but trouble!
yesterday I realized something: I had a mole or skin tag thingy that had popped up out suddenly under one eye, and now it is gone! hmmm, nice and I can't seem to find a thing wrong with that one. I had sort of looked at it, then scratched at it too, only succeeding in making the area red and icky looking. then I left it alone. my son noticed it too. now it is gone! wow! so glad since I do want to look my nicest at wedding and rehearsal dinner.
Need to make up a nice huge green salad now!

This has nothing to do with anything, but I just wanted to tell you that I LOVE the way you spell your name! :)

Oh, wow, Carolyn,
I just wrote in your journal about how we have the same name, only spelled differently! My mom did this, and she always said that I was a painless birth, and a gift form the blessed Mother, Mary. Also that she had 2 little pals, that would come visit her and one was named Carol and Lynne and so she put their names together for mine. No one else ever has my mine spelled like this. and many ppl just write down Caroline or as your name is spelled. oh well, as long as they never called me late to dinner, I always said....
I am up early and getting some things done for the day...

I went to a vegan pot luck last evening, after my dress fitting and picking up the mother of the bride gown for last time. jeesh, way too much money, but I will look so good, I tell myself, and it is all so well worth it too. I am worth it, right? right!
the potluck was about 50 min drive, and not too bad going there, it was back at the church where we had our first E2 challenge, and there were maybe 20 ppl there, and some kids too. so nice. Plenty of good tasty food. One dish was so yummy, a cabbage roll, with grains and homemade spaghetti sauce and then she said it had tempeh, and that is where some of the grains were from, plus she added more and some extra soybeans. I loved the cabbage but all that soy, perhaps that is why she really is a hvy person for being vegan. I did not want to ask, but maybe she is losing her wt too. I know I am thinner now, but still have to lose too. My face is a more slender, working on the rest too.
Most of the ppl there were from the 2d E2 challenge I was in, from the same town I live in, and the mtgs were all held around me, like 5 min away! about 10 at least from last night were all from my town... then one man said that we were to start the vegan pot lucks in our town next month again about 5 min away. That will so wonderful. I will be at them for sure. I brought a sweet potato pie/casserole dish that was great, and a grape/lime/lemon kind of smoothie drink, that I added some seltzer water to, everyone loved that drink! usually we have water there, so I thgt why not drink a smoothie drink, it will be the only one there! There were several main dishes like 3 bean chili, and a gazpacho and pasta dish and the cabbage rolls and a polenta lasg. lots of sides and some more sweets, it was heaven for us eaters!
anyway... on the way home the rain pelted me so badly I had to stop driving for a while..... It was that bad. I prayed a lot too. If I had known about the rain/hail storm I would have stayed home! jeesh. but by the time I was back on my rd it was gentle rain. But for 15 min or so, it was horridly scarey too. never again.
Hope you all have a great Friday and good weekend too.

I read were you had a mole or skin thing disappear I've had quite a few of them just go away since I've been on this way of eating. Even lost an age spot on my forehead loved that.

Rosey, that sounds so wonderful!! Cool Beans!! :-D :-D :-D Love this good stuff happening! wish all of my age spots on hands could all disappear. nice nice touch about being vegan... doncah agree??
Hey good news just got word when the first vegan pot lucks will be held, and it is only 5 min from my house. So happy!
and just asked my husband if he would go with me, just as support, and of course he won't and even seemed a bit angry too. what can I say, I am going without him. have to.... I do see a few husband and wife teams there and it is so nice..... what can I do but invite him along?
I watched the latest lecture on VSH.org by Dr Mike Gregor, on the latest in research in medicine. a ton of good stuff, and son and I saw it together on his computer laptop on the table as we ate. Son took notes too.
anyway, more dangers of eating pork was one of the topics, as it needed any more bad news. and the tape worms from cooked pork can get in your brain, and cause epilepsy and that is the leading cause of childhood epilepsy he says. wow! Can even get it if the person who handles your food eats pork, now that is amazing. There have been cases of Orthodox Jews in NYC getting the brain worms from pork and it was from a food handler who worked for them.....! Pretty scarey I think! Love Dr Gregor's lectures, in spite of his sarcasm I always learn a ton from him.
