Hi Jeff,
I've just been reading Dr. McDougall's new book, "The Starch Solution". With all the governmental recommendations going out, do you think plant strong RD's can make a difference in this world? Is it worth getting an RD to help make a difference?

How many, or what percentage, of RD's are plant strong, and willing to recommend such a WOE to their clients?

I see so many people just barely getting around these days. It's so sad.

I run our church's food pantry. From now on I'm going to try to only give out the healthiest foods, but it's hard sometimes.
Thanks, Gwen

We can help make the information available and be there to help make a difference in the lives of those who want our help. :)

Depends how you define this WOE. To the point of McDougall, Esselystyn, etc? Not many.

A vegetarian/vegan healthier diet? A few.

There is a fairly large Vegetarian Practice Group.

I wrote a 4 part series on this issue and here is the link to them..

Thanks Jeff. I'm printing these out to read and keep.
Having you here to answer questions and being available for support is cool beyond measure!! :0)

I want so much to help others prevent and reverse their diet related health problems. But first, I've got some of my own problems to contend with. After I've got my own house in order, only then will I contemplate having any credibility to be able to help others.

That being said, I think having the credibility of a degree is important. Learning the science behind all this is vital to be able to speak about health in any way.

I'm just so unsure if I have the capability of pursuing school at this point...53 yrs old. But, then again, even if it takes me 10 yrs to complete school, I'd only be 63, and might have another 20 yrs of being able to help others. What do you think? From reading what/how I write, do you think I'd be OK? I was always good in school when younger, getting A's and B's....even getting B's in college level anthropology and geography.

Once again, thanks for your giving heart!
Gwen
