I promised a review in response to the many questions I've received about my experience with the Plant-based Nutrition Course via Cornell.

Here you'll find Part 1:

Plant-based Nutrition Cornell University, Pt 1

Posted this also in the Lounge.

I invite you to leave your comments on the blog as well.

Part 2 on the way!

Lani

Steelhead - you know, some of your reflections on the course contributed to what inspired me to take it.

And thanks for the reminder - time to post part 2 of my review with the response to Pinkrose' juicy questions!

Jut finished your write up of the eCornell course. Thanks very much. I am quite interested in taking it, but need to see if my employer will offset the price with the $1000/year the give us for education. I also need to justify how this will help with my job.

Steve, good luck with this! What is your job? I'm betting some of our readers here can help you with a good argument!

I sit in a control center environment controlling trains (dispatching/monitoring) on a daily basis. Let me say that MANY in the office are very unhealthy. With as little as we get up and move around in an 8 hour day, coupled with many meals eaten of the fast food variety, I am glad I have made the change in my lifestyle.

My learning of nutrition has no direct correlation with controlling trains. I figured I might be able to make the argument that I am taking this training in order to develop healthy employees, who might extend their tenure of service.

Dr. McDougall recently wrote about employers, preventative health care, and immersion programs. You've probably seen it, but this might give you some good arguments to carry forward:

Thanks Lani. Yes, I had watched that video last month from the newsletter. I don't believe my case needs to be all that compelling, but being able to cite some of those numbers and as it relates to insurance and what a program like that could do would help support my case.

Thanks for posting Part 1 Lani, looking forward to your answer of # 8 ;-)

I am really intrigued by this certificate and want save it for a goal reward at some point down the road a bit.

Actually, I posted the answer long ago and it is linked right at the end of Part 1! Guess I will have to make it more obvious!

Here you go:

The #1 thing I learned in plant-based-nutrition school
