 Post subject: Got back some ugly labs

Got my labs back today. Glad I started eating good three weeks ago. Makes me wonder how much worse these were before I started. I can't believe I let it get this bad!
CHOLESTEROL 164
TRIGLYCERIDE 265
HDL 25
LDL CALCULATED 86
CHOLESTEROL/HIGH DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN 6.6

From my doc

Your recent blood work showed that your fasting blood sugar level was in a prediabetic range, your triglyceride level was high and your good cholesterol level was low. My recommendations are to exercise regularly (brisk walk) at least 30 minuates a day for 5 to 7 days a week, to eat healthy low-carbohydrate high-fiber diet, to cut down on butter, greasy and fried food, and to take over-the-counter fish oil, omega 3 or flaxseed oil 1,000 mg one capsule twice a day with meals.

Well Angst - you are on the right track. Not sure if you already are exercising, but if you haven't been - do you have a neighbour that you can walk with. I walk with two mates (who also live near me - every Thursday morning and on Saturday and Sundays - it makes it easier for me to get out of bed knowing that they are going to be there. But as for diet - you are on the right track. I assure you - you'll see improvement - I have and I have to say - Cuz Nicki has since he started having a diet high in veggies, fruit and organic meats. He does have some wholegrains as well in his diet. Cuz Nicki was my cousin's dog who Iinherited a couple of years ago following her death from cancer. He does not look his age anymore - looks younger than ever and has a spark in his walk.
Anyway - you really are on the right track - and if you haven't already you will feel so much better. I have heaps more energy - its an amazing way to live.
