In the book's (MWL) shopping list, he says to get cous cous, but cous cous is pasta. What's the deal with it?

Thanks!

Many many years ago Dr. McDougall said its inclusion was an editing error, that because it really is pasta and not a whole grain it's not allowed on MWLP. Since the book was never revised the error is still in the books sold today.

For someone who goes from MWLP to the regular McD program, whole wheat couscous is probably OK.

Really handy when you need something quick or want a change of pace. Tastes better than "regular" couscous but is ready in just five minutes. Texture is identical to "regular."

I get whole wheat couscous from Trader Joe's.
