Thanks Vola and Fuelen! Unfortunately, we were running late for the art show and didn't have time for pictures. But I think I'm going to wear the same outfit this Sunday for a friends birthday party, so we'll see if I get a picture then...Anyway, we had a WONDERFUL time at the art opening, and our friend was very happy that we were there! It was really fun, and I felt terriffic in my new outfit!
The weather has been absolutely AMAZING here!!! Feels like summer, and I just can't get enough of it. I think they're saying that it's going to go back to normal pretty soon, so I'm trying to be outside as much as possible and drink it in! I have been moving a lot more frequently, and I LOVE my new pedometer. It just makes me think about walking more! Like yesterday, I would have normally driven to go vote, but instead, I decided to walk there...little things, but they add up into a lot over the course of a day. I think there has only been one day where I haven't gotten my 10,000 steps in...and lately it's been more because I've been outside so much. Yesterday I decided to see if I could do a 5 mile walk. I'm pretty comfortable walking 3 miles, so I thought it would be fun to try it. I did it!! It's 0.7 miles around a local lake here at the forest preserve, and I walked around it 7 times (plus a tiny bit more to make it an even 5 miles). I could have kept going. I just have so much energy!
Maybe someday I'll take up running, but for now, I'm really enjoying walking. My next step is to increase my speed. I walk at about a 3.5 miles/hr pace. I think I could get it to 4 if I work on it.
Eating has been great! I'm focusing on my green leafy vegetables and still making a lot of soups. This week I made a split pea, minestrone(with brown rice instead of pasta), and another "refrigerator" soup that I jazzed up with some fire roasted tomatoes and nutritional yeast...my family LOVED it! I wish I had written down exactly what was in it. I can never make it taste the same twice.
Oh, well, keeps things interesting.
I think we're finding that my dh has a sensitvity to gluten. I have never worried too much about it and he has always eaten wheat. But, lately he's been feeling really bloated and gross after eating bread or whole wheat pasta, so we're trying an experiment to stay away from it and see if that's what it is. It won't be too hard, since I'm doing MWL...I just usually supplement my dh and ds with bread and pasta for the extra calories because they are both very trim. My ds actually could stand to gain some weight...my dh has naturally settled at his high school weight since we've been McDougalling. Anyway, we're going to try this gluten-free thing for a while and see how it goes.
I can tell I'm losing more weight this week, but I'm waiting until Friday for my official weigh in. I'm happy to say that the scale has lost it's grip on me, and glad that it didn't take to long to break that old cycle again! My girlfriend gave me a bunch of her size 10s, and guess what???? They all fit!!!!!!! I feel like I just went shopping! I have 5 new pairs of capris and 2 great pairs of jeans and a nice pair of black pants that I can wear now!!!! ALL SIZE 10!!!!
AMAZING!!! I need a few new tops and I'll be all set for Spring! ....Size 8, watch out...I'm coming to get you!!!!!
I guess I'll stop rambling now...I just thought I should check in 'cause it's been awhile. Hope everyone is doing really well!
