Dissolution, Yes I have when we were looking at everything similar to it, with streaming netflix!
A windy day here!! Out and about looking venues for our middles son' wedding rehearsal dinner! got to talk about vegan options with on oils and saw a lot of wide eyed looks and the last place was great!! The waitress said she was a vegetarian, and I added back that I was a vegan, and she said wow, and looked at me with big eyes. then said the cooks had no problems doing for her, and would enjoy the challenge of the no oils or no dairy. She was a tiny little Korean lady, who looked at least all of 15 , but said she had a 3 and a 6 yr old and had been adopted at 5 months old. You know it is so true, what is said, that people who do not eat animals look so much better all the way around. And so much younger!!

night has fallen, and I am feeling so nice and rested up. I did not over eat today, and tried out a new recipe for a super sauce over my steamed veggies. I had bought some beautiful brocc., carrots, and cauliflower and used my bamboo steamer again. It was good. So I definitely got in my cruc. veggies today. Brown rice and a chili sauce, home made. Son found it on line and he was in favor of it too.
DH/ well he had his taco salad and then a bowl of ice cream, and then when I told him I had made up his fav. brussel sprouts he ate all of them next. Do not want to think how his tummy must be feeling after the cow's milk high fat and sugar and then so many of those brussel sprouts on top of it all.
I have noticed that I feel so much better when I do not eat or drink a think after 6 pm. At least.
It was a colder day here, and we even saw some snow flurries in the air. A wintery day.
a nice day all in all, and it can only get better!!

up way too early and did not sleep well, but got on the scale and had lost a pound, and now am at 174 again. nice.... must have been the great mix of cruc. veggies, brocc, caulif, and carrots, mushrooms, with the spicy sauce.. almost too spicy for me, but with the brown rice I managed fine. Son loved it and he had found the recipe to try too.
I wanted to write some more about DH, he did stop drinking beer, and it has been 2 months now. Did I mention that he is finally seeing a G.I. doctor and had his blood test on Friday for next appointment. His liver scan came back perfectly normal, and negative, but the AST ALT and the ALK PHOS had climbed steadily up for a few yrs, it took me to get the appointment to the GI doctor. then seeing my uncle just the night before he slipped into his last coma, a mere 4 days before he passed on.....before he died etc etc. I was on the verge of something, and couldn't decided what..... now he had stopped for 2 months, a huge different man all around. The only thing that bothers me is that he now eats so much ice cream, and that cannot be good. Oh well, one battle at a time. His beer gut has gone way down too. He loves all the veggie meals, every once in a while needs his animal meat too. Like when we go to Hoss's and I get a salad and a baked potato and he gets the salad bar and also a meat dish.
They have a great salad bar with a lot of plain whole foods I can eat and then 2 kinds of vinegar too. At times I bring my own, but I am happy with plain bals. v or the red wine too. Nice spinach and mixed greens there.
So here I am getting slimmer, trimmer and Dh is staying sober, I am happy, so why am I so apprehensive?? I keep thinking that diabetes is his next big medical scare, and he had given up all sweets like the pre -pkgd snack cakes etc and all cakes things, for his glucose count, and then he turns to ice cream daily?? No sense talking to him about it, all I hear back is a big Please, please, in a loud voice. So I don't bother I just wonder when that diabetic snake in the ground will leap up and snag him next. I usually make him a salad daily for his lunch at work, and he brings a raspberry vin. for it. Hey nothing more I can do for him, he is a big boy and will make his own choices... Trying to keep a balance here, and we do have a wedding coming up in May. Going to look so fantastic for it !! I get more compliments for others, jut never from DH... too bad, I think, but that is life,

op, 82 days til the wedding (middle son) We just got back from planning and booking the rehearsal dinner .... and I made darn tooting sure that the 3 vegan will be getting a vegan, and no oil meal option and also some appetizers too, the rest of it is very high priced SAD food, that would give anyone of the forum a heart attack. It is enough to make me skip my own son's wedding, but hey I am a proud momma, and will be there, but at least we can eat too, since I am paying for the rehearsal din-din. the owner said no problem at all, he will not give me just a plate of boiled up pasta and some veggies slapped on a plate but enjoys the challenge, etc. It was the no oils that truly shocked him. He even said he would make sure that I had some good protein, and beans, etc, and I had to add that all veggies have protein and I do not need to eat beans..... what a night... But I will be talking to him again, and guess what his wife is having their 3 child any minute now. I know the family and they all have good restaurant rep, but as a vegan, I will pray for it to go well.
I made up a nice watermelon gazpacho again, and it is good.

Ahh, nice day again, did a ton of stuff. dog to groomers, to walmart, got more veggies, and a new non- stick pan, and a new pr of flip flops too.
then home to eat something and pick up dog, race to the doc appt, women's care only to find out, it was a no-go, so home again, but since I was in the right place got more ribbon, and stuff for the wedding booklets that my sister is making up for wedding favors. then went to hospital to get lab report... liver ASt and Alt super low again, in fact one is 2 pt below the lowest and is labeled low!!

ast 18
alt 12 woo--hoo,

this marks 2 yrs of nice low liver enz and 3 more yrs my fatty liver condition should be all gone!! this WOE sure is working for me,
I am very very happy and feel so blessed by this. I just did not want to end up with perm liver damage, and all because of too much fatty foods!! Seems like I am well on my way then!!

Hi Carollynne
Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the well-wishes :)
I see you are enjoying some much improved, health, too! Congrats on your happy healthy liver--it must be smiling! (have you seen Eat, Pray, Love?)
I read that you too have a Vitamix and can't start the day without a green smoothie! I feel exactly the same. I've had one every single morning since I began this WOE last September! It totally sets the tone for how I'm going to eat for the day. Do you have a favorite recipe?
Have a wonderful weekend!
BLue

Dear Blue, yes I do love my vita mix, but I have slacked off the green smoothies, and usually it is because I am out of the rights stuff, I don't really follow any recipe, just my spinach, 1 -2 Tbl of flax seeds, no need to grind them separately is there>? and some fruit and almond milk, and at times even some of the dark choc almond milk too, or just water or more water content of veggies...
DH did try one out I had made and then never again.
Yes I am getting healthier and love it!! Today I felt down right skinny again... it is all in the food!!
Looking around at the stores is all the proof I need that the McDougall WOE is working for me.
My feet look a lot better to me and even some have noticed that my veins really stick out and you can see them again.
MY liver is on the mend, and I couldn't be happier about that at all. this was my one goal in my head as I researched the internet about the fatty liver condition, and I knew if it could be done, by diet, then I had to give it my all!!
Nice day today. beautiful, and we all walked in the state pk, with Maxie too.
Thanks Rosie for your encouragement too. Hugs right back at you!!

Hi and good morning to all that come my way! I am humming the St Patrick's Song, and it is keeping me going lately. And such nice weather for the next 2 weeks, and apparently there will not be an early spring freeze like we always had here! Hurray!
this is the nicest present my mom could have sent us from heaven.
My wt is going down again, hurray for that one, and I have been sitting at 172 for days again. Nice! I have been working out at the gym better too, not just the water classes and my knees are doing fine.
Going thru more clothes too, to get rid of old stuff, that I will just never wear, too big or baggy, or out of date, and started to look at new stuff too. I do need all new clothes to tell the truth of it.
Up early but at least not 3 am, and will get going early, I want to get to the Amish store early today. Before it is packed! and get any bargains they might have there.
my usual Bf of steel cut oats and some fruit in it, is the best thing and I am sticking to it like glue!
Read on this forum, that there is something in the Bragg's that might higher your BP and now I am cutting it out completely. Maybe that is teh last thing I need to do til my HBP will subside a bit. I do not use it daily, but now I may never do it again, just stick to a tiny bit of low salt soy sauce instead. The Bragg's is higher?? oh my, why didn't I read that label better?
Saw a neighbor of mine using a cane, and I know she had hip replacement near Dec time, she is a school nurse, and head of our sch district for nursing dept, but always been on the heavy side too. It is a shame how prevalent that surgery is, and the knee one. but I am older by 7 yrs I know.... a shame. But this gives me even more resolve to continue too.
I made up a quinoa pasta with my cheezy sauce with mushrooms and some zucc. and again I will say I only like the quinoa seeds, and never the pasta.
Good day to all our here!

Hey there bright sunny Lady! Gotta say your attitude is infectious. What Braggs product are you using? The amino acids? I use a bit of the low sodium soy sauce. I have been checking my BP and it seems to be on the rise....I am not to salt savvy and I need to cut it out too.

Glad your having good weather. It's been raining in a biblical sense here. Good thing I live on a hill. I should blow up my rubber boat for good measure :-P

You inspire me

Christine, Hello there girlfriend, in Cali!! I have missed your posts lately, you were the sunny one too! Thanks for coming my way to brighten it up a bit. We are having great weather for springtime this time of yr. no more freezes for us in store!
So what is going on in your life these days? I hope all is going great for you sweetie!
I really wish my HBP would flat down the river..... and now that diovan160 is not available I am trying out a new one, and just wish I could it anyway. Patience, Patience, Patience.... I tell myself. if only , if only I tell myself too.
But I did decided no more soysauce, which I was only using the Bragg's anyway, and they only like 6% sodium in a 1/2 tsp , a mere 160 mg, and that is a lot for 1/2 tsp.
ahh too pretty a day to be inside now. and so for now, ta ta!

Hi Carollynne,

You are so upbeat and such a positive influence here. I love reading about your involvement in the pot lucks and sharing this journey with your son. What a blessing to have him there for support and encouragement.

Keep going!

Hey it was a great wkeend, such glorious weather here for us in So Central PA! We tired out our new grill, son and I had grilled veggies, and a homemade gluten and white bean sausage and Dh had a steak! smashed reds and peas and carrots on top. loved it!! Son and I went to Gburg and did a lot of walking again, in town, and the battlefields, and I am amazed that I can do that as well as I can now. When I first get out of teh car, (son drove this time) I feel as tho I am not able to walk right, but soon enough it cranks up fine. Ankle feels like a normal ankle and it is only my L knee that seems to talk to me now. Progress is good.
Walked into an Irish Pub and son got carded!! he is 31 and has all his hair, so maybe he does look young, and as a vegan looks great (mommi speaking here) but the dining room was full up and too long of a wait, but oh the Irish and old world atmosphere was great. Then went to have Thai food again, better fare, as it was a lot of veggies, all crisp and white rice! And all of this was walking up and down the main streets on Gburg and loved being able to just walk so well. just a few yrs ago, before I joined the fitness center and this past Oct was my first renewal, I was using crutches for my right knee, and arthritic changes in it. No surgery possible the doc had said, and it was the ping pong affect of a tiny little punch in and then out, and the pain was worse than any labor pain I had experienced. wow! So right knee is now fine, and hope it is all about the no animal products too. I am so convinced it is the only WOE for us humans.
Christine in CA!! wish you could meet up with my bro in Cali oneday!! You were a happy upbeat person who helps others all the times.
