hi jeff, are there plenty of omega 3s to meet mcdougallers needs in leafy greens and other mcdougall approved foods-vegetables,starches and fruit?can we continue to follow MWL without the worry or concern of a need to add omega 3 sources such as flaxseed?i am bombarded with comments from non-mcdougallers that we should add omega 3 foods such as flaxseed, chia etc...

The guidelines and principle of the McDougall program allows for the inclusion of nuts and seeds in limited amounts. So, seeds, such as flax or chia and/or nuts such as walnuts, could be included and still be 100% McDougall compliant. Nuts, seeds and avocados are served at the 10-Day program, in limited amounts.

Yes, I know a little nuts/seeds is not against Dr. McD's plan, but are we OK NOT including any nuts/seeds/avocadoes over the long term?

Thanks,
Maer

The OP asked the same question last year. Here is Jeff's reply that may help.
