URGH. I have noticed some slides in my diet so I am trying to close the gaps with the big offenders. Coffee is one of them. Day one no coffee today.

I will feel better about 2 weeks from now. The first week is going to be a test.

Hang in there... I'm still unable to give up the coffee myself, maybe your success can help other people kick the habit haha.

Keep strong!

I gave up coffee before I started the McDougall diet. The withdrawal was unpleasant enough that I would have to be crazy to start drinking it again. Who has 2 weeks to feel lousy while getting it out of your system? There are so many benefits for me to give it up. No buying $ coffee, no coffee maker to clean and take up space, getting started on my day without having to have coffee kick start me, no afternoon lows making me need more coffee, not needing to do to the bathroom constantly, and best of all I feel much more calm and relaxed. Its great to be free from the whole busy work of drinking coffee!

I quit drinking coffee in the middle of January and now I feel great. Whatever you go through to kick the coffee habit is worth it, hang in there. :)

I did buy some teecino this afternoon at Whole Foods just to get the "coffee" taste. I still miss it but look forward to feeling better.

I forgot to mention I am having an occasionally soda so my caffeine headache is not as bad as normal. I have switched to Zevia but I need to get off that next.

too much processed junk vegan food for me!!!

Well done! It will start getting easier soon (it took me about 3 days to start feeling better when I went off coffee last year). And you'll feel great when you're caffeine free. I wake up in the mornings without that fog over my brain that I used to have before my first cup of coffee. It's so good to be free of that.

Im starting to feel better. I do have to drink about 1/4 a cup of teecino to get the coffee flavor. But overall good.

Now I have to tackle my Zevia vegan soda. They have a no caffeine one and I have been using it as an intermediatry step to get off all soda. But I want to go as clean as possible.

I have never been a coffee drinker -- but, I was a Dr. Pepper drinker. I transitioned away from the dr. pepper by brewing some green tea and adding some sugar and lemon to it, to help with the transition and then I gradually diluted the tea more and more with ice until I was happy with just ice water. Since adopting this WOE and for the first time in my life, I no longer crave Dr. Pepper -- I had given it up before (for about 10 years), but all of those years I still craved it and longed for the taste. Something about this WOE have completely cured those cravings and now it no longer even crosses my mind to have some.

I am glad to hear you are coming out on the other side of the caffein addiction -- it is a glorious and free world here on the other side -- welcome!

Sharon

I used sparkling mineral water to get off Diet-Coke. Now I just drink plain water. I just tried Teecino today for the first time, love it!

I drink Pellegrino alot but there is something about the taste of dark sodas.

Anyway, I am making my move to clear all these processed foods out of my body.
