Hi. I have begun lots of journals here, always with good intentions of sticking to the program, and failing almost immediately each time. I don't think I have ever even lasted a full day in any of my attempts that I have journal led here, or that I did privately.
It's at the point though where I am running out of the option of not radically cleaning up my eating, and I'm facing a decision on Monday morning. I have to decide whether to go ahed with a scheduled wisdom teeth operation (under general anesthetic) in 8 days or delay it for a few months. The issue I have is that one of my major fears in life is going under general anesthetic, which is compounded by the fact that I have been eating shockingly and as a result am very obese, am very unhealthy, probably loaded up with toxins and probably have really compromised blood circulation. So I am really, really worried about going into surgery like this. The operation is booked in a city a way away because I could get in sooner than in my hometown but on Monday I am going to see if my old appointment still stands which would mean that my operation would not be for a few months, therefore giving me time to get healthier. The issue there though is whether I will have teeth problems in the meantime. I suspect not, but I'm going to Italy for a couple of weeks just before the appoint, ent and I'm not thrilled at the prospect of having painful dental issues when I'm overseas in a largely non English speaking country.
All the above is a very long winded way of saying I am not sure my immediate goal is. If I find out on Monday that the surgery is in a week I will want to launch into full on MWL to try and clear up my arteries a little bit and reduce blood pressure etc. if I am able to get it done in a few months I feel like making my goal initially to stick with gettin rid of all dairy and animal products. At the moment dairy is the basis of my diet. Ice cream, milk and chocolate are what I've been eating throughout each day for years. I have not been able to get away from them.
The good news: today I ate no dairy at all! And every piece of food I put in my mouth would have been comfortably less than 10% calories from fat. I even cooked (!) a big sautéed vegetable thing with onion, greens and vegetable and herbs and had it over brown rice. I ate it twice today and have some left over for tomorrow.
Several weeks ago I discovered that frozen banana tastes just like banana ice cream, which I love, so I have having that (unfortunately not instead of icecream, but as well as). A few days I ordered a yonana machine that I read about on these boards. I can wait for that!
I am off dairy for good now as of today. After not having it today I dont feel bloated, which I definitely have been all the time.
I have rambled. I'm going to stop. Thanks for reading
