Hi Giddyupgin - You are a nurse, I think, as I am - do you work in a hospital or the community? Just wondering how your co workers have responded to your new way of eating.
I just received my copy of "Forks Over Knives" and think I am going to post a notice for anyone who wants to come to my house to watch it. I will post a short explanation, and see how many people sign up. I did approach Human Resources but didn't get any interest.
Yes I am a Critical Care Nurse...I got "into" this from a suggestion of one of our secretaries to read The China Study...from there it went viral for us and since there are two more people to jump on board...I believe my co-workers have seen the change in me only from a curious standpoint... they all have their excuses when it comes down to changing their way of eating....I have learned to let it go.....I can only change for myself.....I am lucky my husband has jumped on board with me and we are both very dedicated to this...we just joined a gym for the winter to push our weight loss but also to tone what we have lost.....being an "older" nurse I see the positive affect on my stamina after a long 12 hour shift....I have to bite my tongue though when my patient after a recent heart attack can order a cheeseburger for dinner..It bothers me but I have found that only those that want to change will change...as my co-workers.....two of us {both Nurses} have started a FOK meetup group in the area...we just had our first meetup and will meet monthly for a Luncheon to share our stories and recipes for healthy eating..
