Any Bay Area California McDougallers?

I would love to have a picnic or dinner get together sometime if there are others nearby. I'm in Fremont. I also get up to Napa sometimes ( have family there.) Jen

Hey Jen - I am on the Peninsula and have family in Niles. A picnic/potluck sounds great. Mike Teehan mentioned that on the Excursion and I thought great let's go to Mike's, hehehe, he is in Hawaii :lol:

I'm in the South Bay (San Jose,) and often in San Francisco and Pittsburg (CA). Pot luck or other get together sounds awesome.

We have a group of McDougallers active in the San Francisco/Peninsula area. We meet, do potlucks, and other activities from time to time. We would be happy to have you join us. That goes for anyone that either lives here or is just passing through.

Count one more in Palo Alto also interested in potlucks, picnics, etc. Another possibility - going en masse to a local vegan restaurant - especially if it's hard to find some one with a home large enough to accommodate a group.

Good idea for local vegan restaurant bancha! I live very near you and I really don't know any. Well, Garden Fresh and Lovinghut - neither of which could accommodate a group. If you or others know of more, please share, it's info we could use - even before we gather

I'd be happy to. With the holidays it might be a while. Everyone is usually pretty hectic this time of year.

I am also in Fremont (but spend a fair bit of time in the Palo Alto area) and would definitely be interested in some sort of gathering and a chance to meet some other McDougallers. I'd also love to hear about local restaurants that you all have found to be vegan/McDougall friendly -- the only ones I know well are Garden Fresh and Herbivore.

You must check out Homma's Brown Rice Sushi there in Palo Alto. He is open Tuesday through Sunday, I believe. All rolls are made with brown rice and he has a large vegetarian selection to choose from. Definitely worth the trip.
