Interestingly, the BBC website describes one of the rituals of Lent as follows: "During Lent, there are many foods that some Christians - historically and today - would not eat: foods such as meat and fish, fats, eggs and milky foods." McDougallers observe Lent year-round!

I am a Christian, but not from a group that makes a large event of lent. Not sure that was expressed well. WHat I mean is we don't usually say " I am giving this or that for Lent"
But this year, I decided to raise my awareness of the strength we gain from joining with Christ.
I am trying to stay on MWL, and have struggled with that.
I am not so much giving up bread for Lent , and focusing on
pausing when tempted to pray, and to realize I am not alone. There fore I am hoping to be really strict for the 40 days, And of course by then I should be stronger in my healthier habits.
I guess more than looking at "giving up" any thing I am
"taking his yoke upon me" Which of course will lift the burden of struggle.
