Romaine really doesn't have much nutrition. By dark leafies we mean collard greens, mustard greens, spinach, turnip greens, etc. :)

I agree about the lettuce but I get plenty of green nutrition & refuse to eat collard, mustard, turnip greens. I do eat a lot of spinach & broccoli & zucchini. I tried those others but no way jose!! Not going there, doing that again.

Jan

 oh goody, someone that agrees with me! I will stick with spinach, broccoli & zukes/cukes too, then.

That's fine! Don't eat them if you hate them. :) BUT you might try adding SMALL amounts of frozen greens to recipes for a while and see what you think. I find I really don't even know they're there, and a la Jeff, I put them in 99.9% of everything I make now, from soup to spaghetti sauce to curry dishes. :)

That is what I will have to start doing....hiding them in things. I'll try that to start and then think about others ways to eat them.

If you grind up kale in a food processor, it will grind up into very small pieces. From there you can add them to just about anything and not taste them!

Haven't been here much this week. I've been mindful of my eating, trying to get in some exercise. Just busy and posting fell by the wayside.

B-oatmeal....
L-quinoa with beluga lentils and romaine lettuce

So I took a break from the boards here. Tried half heartedly to stay on program Thanksgiving through New Years. Both kids were home from college and it was the holidays. Maybe a lame excuse but years and years of 'tradition' are hard to change.

I acutally thought I had done good by losing 16 pounds since 10/1 but no one seemed to notice and a picture of me taken on Christmas Day - totally horrific. No wonder no one noticed! EEK!

Kids are back at school finally and I have slowly, too slowly, been getting back to McDougalling. I will be doing a Mary's Mini starting later this week. I need to get some more green veggies in the house before it will be a successful 10 days. But I would like to end January with the Mary's Mini.

I did gain a few pounds over the holidays but this morning I am back at 214. That is a big plus in my books.

Breakfast - Oatmeal, pumpkin,applesauce,raisins,vanilla,cinnamon
Lunch - hummus, carrots, celery, grapes
Dinner - black bean 'meat loaf', broccoli

almost a year since I posted?? That can't be right.

I have lost no weight since that last post! Well I may have lost some but then I regained it. Feeling very bad about where I am at physically and yes I realize it is all my own doing.

I did not get a personal chef for Christmas. Phooey on that.

Need to get back to this way of eating and just embrace it already.
