I have a complete closet full of clothes of various sizes (as I'm sure many of us do) from the last time I lost 70 lbs. I'm out of the 16s and out of the 14s and I'm now wearing only size 12 jeans!!! WHOO HOOO!!!!

This weekend I'm gonna pack up the bigger clothes and take them to Goodwill, and then buy myself a few smaller things there as a cheap reward.

I usually weigh in on Fridays but I'm also keeping track of monthly weight loss, so weighed in today (last day of month). Another 2.7 lbs loss this week!! And a total of 8.2 for the month.

So far my monthly weight loss has gone thusly:

Period of Jan.-May 2010 (when I was trying to be a "good" vegan but not truly McDougalling--just goes to show that you have to do it ALL THE WAY!): 8.5 lbs for the 5 month period.

June '10: 7.9 lbs
July '10: 15.2 lbs
Aug. '10: 6.0 lbs
Sept. '10: 8.2 lbs

Total lost: 45.8 lbs! Since started REALLY McDougalling in June: 37.3!

I had the most weight loss in July, mostly b/c then I still had a LOT to lose. Had a plateau in late Aug and into Sept that mostly affected Aug loss (but I stayed strong).

I can't believe that I'm almost back into the 150s!!!! Hopefully by next week.

I sometimes feel a little guilty b/c it seems easier for me than for others--b/c I've been vegan 20 years and veg for 10 years b/f that. So it's never a risk for me to eat meat or cheese. But it IS hard to avoid all the "marketed-as-healthy" vegan convenience food out there--it really is!!!! While I was re-gaining the weight, I sometimes just felt MAD that here I was, eating better than 99% of the U.S., and STILL gaining weight!! I felt as if I "should" be getting rewarded, not punished, for being vegan, not eating traditional "junk," etc. It took a lot for me to get past that and just accept that, like it or not, Trader Joe's frozen and packaged sections are NOT my friends and that such food is NOT good for you, even if it's nominally "better" for you than, say, McDonald's. ;)

Seems like it was just yesterday when I fit into size 12 jeans (and THAT was a HUGE day, since when I started I was wearing tight 16s). Last Friday I tried on the 10s I bought (at Goodwill, of course!) a few weeks ago as incentive and THEY FIT!!! They look AWESOME!! I scared the cats with my screech of triumph, LOL.

I have a pair of 8s sitting waiting (from when I was skinny before). I can actually get them ON--just can't zip them. ;) So it will be a few weeks, but 8, here I COME!

OK-- finally got a new photo taken! My fat pic is from my best friend's wedding last year (ugh!!!) and I took the new one at approx the same angle. This isn't an "after" pic, but an "in process" pic as I still have 16-20 lbs to go. But even I have to say WOW! :D :D :D I should have worn a more clingy shirt--this one is a little loose in the front so you can't see quite how my stomach looks, but still pretty good. Size 16 (TIGHT) in the first one; size 10 in the one from today.

Oh, and in the before shot I was Spanx'd up to the NINES. I mean Spanx EVERYWHERE. So it was really a lot worse, LOL.

Yup -- 5'-6" on the nose. So pretty average for an American. I do have huge bones though--not just sayin' that. My hands are the size of most mens', LOL. When I was 128 I was REAAAAAAAALLLY thin. Shooting for 140 or maybe 135 this time.
