WEEKEND
SAT: (trimming most of the day--took lunch and snacks w/ me)
B-fast: hashbrowns with onion and pepper
Lunch: leftover potato and veg curry
Snacks: carrots and apple
Dinner: ww pasta with marinara sauce, black beans, mushrooms, and spinach

SUN: (trimming most of the day--took lunch and snacks w/ me)
B-fast: oatmeal with peaches
Lunch: leftover potato/veg curry
Snacks: carrots and apple
Dinner: eggplant, lentil and brown rice crockpot dish I made for Father's Day potluck; also ate vegan but not FF salads my SIL made, but not too much of anything but what I brought! Did have a glass of wine, too.

TODAY
B-fast: leftover eggplant, lentil, and brown rice
Lunch: Went out for co-worker's b-day lunch--I ordered a salad with spring mix, cukes, mushrooms, peppers, and tomatoes and took my own very low fat dressing.
Dinner (planned): Probably more of the eggplant, lentil and rice dish! I made WAY too much, LOL! But it's tasty, so that's o.k.

Monthly weigh-in on 6/25/10: 190.6

That's a weight loss for JUNE (when I got serious and got back to McDougall) of 7.9 pounds and a total weight loss (since Dec.--I was sorta trying but not compliant) of 16.4 pounds!

WHOO HOOO!!!

Weigh-in on 7/12/10: 184.2 lbs

That's a weight loss since JUNE 1 (when I got serious and got back to McDougall) of 14.3 pounds and a total weight loss since Dec.--22.8 pounds! My BMI is now under 30!

I haven't been posting menus just b/c it's boring, LOL. I don't vary things too much--mostly b/c I just really like the things I make! I have been probably 90% MWL and 10% regular McDougall (mostly the non-MWL stuff is the McDougall soups and occasional WW pasta). I have had no bread at all.

So yesterday I wore a pair of jeans I thought would be fine.

I quickly realized, after I got to work, that they were FALLING OFF MY BUTT. I'm talking seriously falling down. I spent the whole day hiking them up every 30 seconds, walking w/ my thumb hooked in the belt loop, etc.

When I got home, I removed them by just pulling them off w/out undoing button or zipper! Adding a belt to them and relegating them to farm pants status only.

WHOO HOOOOO!!!!

Just got back from my annual vacation to beautiful Vancouver Island!! Given that I live in Tennessee (where it has been consistently 96-100 for WEEKS now), the Island was ESPECIALLY wonderful this summer!!! Low 70s for the high, ocean breezes, and lots of long walks in that nice weather! I lost 5.2 pounds in a week and a half!!

I had a few "issues" w/ my family about McDougalling (they're used to me being vegan but I had been a LAX vegan (oil, etc) for the last few years (and paying for it!!)), but they can see it working. I just held firm. I made dinner twice and they all enjoyed their meals. Given that my mom has severe osteoporosis (after a lifetime of eating better than most people but still being very heavy into eggs and dairy products) and her partner is grossly overweight, pre-diabetic, with heart problems and 2 bad knees (on which she has had 2 surgeries, but given the weight, those didn't even help much!), I sure wish people would pay more attention. I know none of them will change the way they eat, though, and that makes me sad.

Back to the good stuff: My current weight is 175.4 (down from 207) and I'm within a few pounds of the HALFWAY point! WHOOO HOOO!!!

Congrats!!! I know for me, going from the 170's into the 160's is really the difference between looking fat and starting to look normal. I have a long way to go!

Keep on going!!

Here's my chart so far:

Image

You can see that while I dithered around doing my usual vegan thing but trying to be a little bit good (between 1/1 and 6/1) I lost all of 8.5 pounds. Then between 6/1 (when I returned to the McDougall fold) and today (just 3 mos!), I've lost 29.1 pounds!

I LOVE YOU, DR. McDOUGALL!!! :D
