FWIW, I'd like to add my praise for the Wii Fit. I got it accidentally for Christmas--we got it for my daughter who was up from Chicago, but it was too heavy to put in her suitcase, so I gave her $100 to get one down there, and gave myself hers!
I have to say, I hate exercise. The only kind I have ever liked is dance, but I was never a dancer, and I don't like any kind of exercise that makes you get in your car and drive for half an hour, and then pay hundreds of dollars for--so yoga, dance, and gym memberships are not for me.
We already had the Wii--for my husband, who never uses it! It tried the golf and bowling and hated them--I'm terrible at them in real life, too.
But, on January 1, I got on that Fit board, so feeble that I could hardly move. My legs hurt, my balance was terrible, and I was so full and fat I could hardly move. The exercises all last only 2 to 5 minutes, and you get a natural rest of 30 to 60 seconds while you choose the next one. I can do an exercise for 5 minutes, knowing that I can quit or switch if I want to when it's done!
So I have exercised daily for the last 123 days, missing only 8 times, for about 10 to 30 minutes per day. When I read what some of you are doing for exercise, I know what I'm doing is pitifully small, but it's good for me. I have NEVER done any exercise program for this long before! I love my Wii Fit!
How are you guys all doing?
