Can someone send me Marey's email address in a PM (with her permission, of course). She sent me her email address in a PM before she left the board, but when she left as a member, her PM disappeared from my inbox??? (Marey started this interesting thread last Spring.)

Global Warming drove our Southern Tennessee early morning temp. down to a shivering 13 degrees this morning!

I don't know about the political stuff and the scientific facts either camp puts forward as proof. All I know is that it would not hurt anyone of us to cut back a bit to make the air a bit more breathable and the water a bit cleaner, you know walk and not drive everywhere, recycle aso.
We are eventually having to think,"Do I wanna drown in my own rubbish? Do I wanna breath in all the toxic emitions pouring out all over the place?"

The Boston Tea Party was not about a bunch of misinformed, willfully ignorant, Fox "News" brainwashed people being bused in to Town Hall Meetings by so-called grass roots organizations (actually financially backed by billionaires with strong ties to the health care and insurance complex) to shout out pre-prepared slogans and catcalls, thus effectively shutting down the whole Democratic process in many cases.

And while I'm at it, let me state for the record that I think it is nothing short of incorrigible that anyone would try to make the comparison between a bunch of modern day "Teabag" simpletons, and the Iranians who are fighting for their very lives under a repressive and dangerous regime. Do you really think that adopting the same Socialized health care currently enjoyed in some form by pretty much every other Western nation would just magically plunge us into a reign of terror whereupon university students are kidnapped and beaten savagely (or worse) simply for trying to put out "tweets" about their situation on Twitter?

In short: Yes, this whole Teabag movement utterly disgusts me. As do climate change deniers who spout off lie after canard after fallacy, happily taking it square in the backside while doing the bidding of industries whose bottom lines would suffer drastically if there weren't all this manufactured "debate" and endless cries of "junk science".

conservation of our resources doesn't hurt anything... we've become so comfortable with disposable goods and planned obsolescence.

I assume you are quite happy with the democrats and obama and their cronies in the finance, insurance and drug companies and the backdoor deals? Whether global warming is manmade or not cap and trade is just a way to increase revenue and government power.

people who study the psychology of happiness report that one thing that creates a general sense of wellbeing/happiness is conservation of resources....

so, regardless of factual info re: global warming, it's in everyone's best interest to conserve.
