 Post subject: Cyst on Thyroid

Hi all, My cousin has a Cyst on her Thyroid. The doctors have told her it needs to be removed to ensure it does not become cancerous. My understanding is that the thyroid performs some important body functions.

Is there anything she can do to get rid of the cyst WITHOUT having the thyroid removed?
