Help me with breakfast ideas!

Hi,
I need a bit of help with what to eat for breakfast, im eating mcdougall to try and sort out my stomach issues, (low grade inflamation in my gut)
When I first started a month ago I ate oatmeal for breakfast and that felt really soothing on my stomach and kept my going untill lunch.
I then decided to go gluten free as I was getting bowel distress, for the last week ive been eating puffed brown rice with a chopped banana.
Im not sure this really is a great meal though, its very very high GI and probably highly processed and just doesnt fill me up much.
I want to find something thats easy to digest, i.e not too rough on my gi tract medium/low gi and gluten free, any ideas? or am I asking just too much

How about gluten-free oatmeal? Certified gluten-free oatmeal is readily available nowadays. Virtually all health food stores carry it, and most quality grocers will have the main brand (Bob's Red Mill) somewhere in the store, though they may have it somewhere other than the oatmeal/cereal aisle.
Other good gluten-free, easy on the stomach choices - leftover brown rice, re-warmed in non-dairy milk, raisins, bananas, cinnamon, & a bit of honey or maple syrup. (Eliminate/modify fruit/spices as needed to suit your gastronomical needs).
Beans of any sort that settle well with you (beans are a breakfast staple in many parts of the world that don't have an obesity epidemic). If you don't eat beans much, you might use Beano at first to minimize the gas, since it sounds like your stomach is sensitive.
Sweet potatoes, cold & whole if you're in a rush, or warmed up & mashed (they cook well in a crockpot overnight - just scrub, dry, & put in the crock on low).
Mashed potatoes, formed into a patty & "fried" in a pan.
Hash browns (buy the preshredded kind w/no added oil) pan-"fried" in some apple or white grape juice to get nice & crisp. _________________ Cured: severe reflux, chronic pain, pre-diabetes.

What do you like to eat???
I make a 5-pound batch of smashed potatoes on Sunday to bring to work for breakfast every day. I use either rice milk or Hazelnut/Almond milk with the potato water and add nutritional yeast. I top the container with some cooked green beans (always liked that combination).
On weekends, I like white beans with corn tortillas or hash browns (or both!!!). I have a non-stick large 12-inch pan. I put the shredded taters in there with some sliced onion and pat it down good and hard. Put the cover on and cook on high for 10 or more minutes until they get very brown. They don't stick when they are done (but will if they are not fully cooked), turn and repeat. Mine come out like an in-tact pizza...one round piece. It's crunchy and yummy---most of our food is soft so it's a nice treat.
I also have some good gluten-free cereal, but it doesn't stay with me for very long.
Even leftovers are fine for breakfast....burritos, rice/veggies, etc.

We used to eat oatmeal every day before we went gluten-free too. Now one of our staples is buckwheat (no wheat in buckwheat - really!) groats. I toast them in my cast iron or stainless steel skillet then add water in a 1:2 ratio (1 cup groats/2 cups water). Let cook until all water is absorbed, 10-15 minutes. I like to stir in some blackstrap molasses, sliced strawberries and bananas.
We also enjoy quinoa cooked with cinnamon, raisins and apples.
Crock pot rice: 2 cups brown rice + 9 cups water cooked on low all night. In the morning, add raisins, chopped walnuts (if you use nuts), cinnamon, etc.
Carol's suggestion to eat foods that we don't traditionally think of as "breakfast" is a good one too!  _________________ Jamie

I really enjoy baked sweet potatoes/yams and a 1-2 pieces of fruit.

You’ve used gi and GI in your post and I’m interpreting them to mean gastrointestinal (as in tract) and Glycemic Index (as in foods with a low GI). If I understand you correctly, you are searching for food items that have a low glycemic index but you don’t say why. That’s really not part of the McDougall program.
