At first when I first saw the SNAP recipe I wasn't too impressed but after seeing the different recipes and the pictures I am wanting to try them out. :) Thanks for sharing these with us.

I just attempted to cook my first Success 10 minute brown rice. The plastic bag wouldn't completely submerge in the water and the part sticking out melted onto the pan! Any tips on doing this? (I'm not a natural in the kitchen :D )

Yes, use a larger pot so the bag fits in completely without sticking out at all.

First of all I would like to say how much I appreciate JeffN. I remember Jeff from the Pritikin days, long before they bastardized the Pritikin diet (check out the Pritikin website, now they're "experimenting" with adding higher protein meals in the form of chicken and fish. Can you believe it?

Anyway, I just want Jeff to know how much I truly appreciate the simple "throw-together" meals on this thread. I work long, hard hours and just can't cook like I used to. I appreciate any ideas/hints to make my life easier.

So glad you're here at McDougall now! McDougall was and always will be "McDougall"!! Wish I could say the same for the other plan.

I am feeling really dumb... no matter how I look, I cannot find the pictures of Jeffs quick "SNAP" recipes any more. I know I saw them many months ago. Can somebody tell me how to access the photos?

I finally noticed the instructions say to "submerge" the bag into the water. To do that, I had to use a larger pot than I had been using, and with more water, and --before starting the cooking--had to hold the bag down under the water until the contents were saturated, and the bag "sunk", submerged. It stayed submerged once the contents had been saturated.

Now, when I use this product, I get perfect rice everytime.

The oatmeal bars look good--how long do they keep?

Re the rest, how do you avoid heartburn using so many canned tomatoes? Even a little kills me! Trying to think of a good substitute--veggie broth?
