Or go by yourself, with a family member or friend as well!
Best way to start an exercise program.

Tip...

Do what you enjoy doing. That way you'll continue doing it.

Start slow and gradually progress. Take about 12 to 24 months to begin to get fit, then more slow progression for the following 2 years.

Do something you can do out the front door or very near to your home.

Don't do anything seen on TV or should I say, sold on TV.

Unless you have a pool, your main source of exercise will end up being either walking or cycling. Everything else won't provide what you need and the enjoyment to continue it.

Don't do anything you need a coach for on a continuing basis.

Coach? I haven't had a coach since high school track.

Well, I'm very opinionated about exercise. I've been exercising for 54 years all over the world and I just don't see the complication. We all know how to walk.
Equipment is minimal. Injuries are seldom serious.
Probably the best exercise for 90% of people here.

OK... have fun.....walk in interesting places...see your neighbors, see the plants, leave the ipod and radio and cell phone at home.. Calm your mind instead of filling it with noise. Listen to the birds and leaves rustling... don't step on ant trails, as it will ruin their whole week.
Walk walk walk.....30 minutes turns into 60 before you even notice it.
The best part of the day... :D

I walk 3.5 miles daily, a bit more on weekends. It is easy, convenient, and requires nothing but decent shoes. I'm too lazy to get on machines and it seems too much like work. Brisk walking is soooo much easier and it makes you really familiar with your neighbors and neighborhood.
Try it....It's free.

Or you could leave the car in the driveway and hop on your bike to go everywhere. I started doing that at the beginning of the month. While I haven't given up all driving, I've put over 200 miles on the bike already this month.
