Keep up the good work, Sksamboots! You are doing amazing. I love how you handled things at the work luncheon.

In time, people will stop thinking how you eat is odd and stop making a big deal of it. You'll even stop thinking of it as something special you do and it's "just the way you eat."

Wow, sksamboots, great job at the work luncheon! I hate being the center of attention too, and the last time I was in a situation like that I didn't handle it nearly as well as you did. Keep sharing your fabulous progress! I love reading about it!

Thank you Kirk for being a constant cheerleader! You really help me feel that this is possible. When the going gets a little tough - there you are with encouragement and experience. I will be putting my feet up on the wall today for sure!

Look at you! Your clothing tells you the truth about your success. You did a great job at the work luncheon. I've been down that road many times at work, myself. They will soon forget about what you are doing at lunch. I just bring my own lunch and then if there happens to be anything I can eat I add it to my lunch - just like you did. When we have potluck lunches I make something McDougall and bring it - bean and corn soup from the Quick and Easy cookbook is always a hit.

Sorry to hear about your husband's grandmother. It's such a sad and empty feeling when someone we love dies and is no longer in this life with us to visit and hug. Your husband is lucky to have your understanding love to help him through this time.

Digestive system is clean

I don't get all droopy in the afternoon from a sugar high or low from eating SAD food

Hi Sksamboots - I have been busy and traveling for so long that I haven't had much time here in quite awhile. I had been just checking MWL group, but now that I'm home for awhile, and with no company, I'm trying to take a look at a few journals. I'm so glad that you are doing one - you are so very positive. I'm much older, but a very slow learner. I've been "watching" my weight for about 30 years - ridiculous! You are doing great, and you are inspiring the rest of us too! Take care, LauraA

Thanks for all the support.

I'm sitting here and pondering today about the damage that SAD food does to a person and how controlling it can be. I belong to another forum, and it's with young adults that eat a SAD diet. Anyways, I'm starting to find it really sad (no pun inteded) the effects that this food is having on these girls. They all want to lose weight so badly but they end up slipping up or go over the amount of calories allowed. It makes me sad.......

but

Also so happy that food no longer has this control over me. They know what kind of diet I'm eating but are not interested in giving up burgers and fries. But I do put my view points out there. Maybe one day they will finally "Hear" me and give it a try....

Anyways..

I woke up and exercised for an hour on my elliptical. I had a smoothie for breakfast and will have a bean salad for lunch. I'm feeling good!! :D

It is so great to sign on here to see you have posted something nice in my journal. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know others care. :)
I feel I am doing much better now, sticking to plan easier by having others who support me and vice versa. This is a wonderful and caring community and I thank you for being a part of it. 8)

For Stopping by my Journal :D

I was so tired yesterday. My body still has not adjusted to waking up at 6:30am to exercise. I'm so used to getting up at 8am. But I must exercise--so 6:30am is the time I get up and I have no choice. I do feel better once I exercise, it's just in the evenings, after work, I'm ready to crash. I was falling alseep at 7:30pm last night. Eh..So soon hopefully my body will adjust!

I'm on plan and planning to stay that way. I haven't stepped on the scale in over two weeks, so I'm curious to see what it says but not running to step on it. I've been getting compliments from my hubby and enjoying those. Hmm..I'm around ..Keep on keepin on :D
