I just read in Vegetarian Times that Bob Harper from the biggest loser just turned vegetarian after reading: Skinny Bitch, The Blue Zones and The Engine 2 Diet. I'm very excited about this! Whether he promotes oil or not on the show I don't know but I love this show and it will be awesome to see the nation (who also loves this show) see that you can be healthy doing this!

Verrrry interesting. I heard that Jillian tried going veg once too. We'll see how long it lasts, but with Jennie-O Turkey being a big sponsor of the show in the past, I am doubtful we'll hear any veg endorsements there...

Did you see in one of the shows filmed at the contestants' homes last season, they made ground turkey muffins?? *shudder*

I love Bob. And now I love him more. :D
Don't you know I watch the Biggest Loser just to see him? :-D
(not really.lol)
I just hope he can keep his job and promote healthier foods now that he's gone to "the other side." ;)

I think he said that he would teach the value of plant based, but to the ppl who think they cant go veg, he would still employ meat. Hopefully off air he is teaching the principals of E2 and that will take it farther.

I thought the same thing about the whey protein and felt disappointed in Bob. However, I'm sure he has to tout whatever it is they want him to. He needs his own show, like Dr. Oz, and maybe have the freedom to be honest about health. Its sad that such a good program like the Biggest Loser is, at the end of the day, sponsored by certain products. Its all about the almighty dollar. Thats why I'm convinced you'll never find the truth thru commercial television.

I just watched Biggest Loser last night and said to myself," Bob looks even skinnier than before." Now I know why.

I've watched the past two weeks too and he does look even thinner, but not in a bad way. I really do love this show even with its flaws the end result is life altering for all of these contestants. Go Bob and Jillian!!

I too was struck by Bob's slimness. I also noticed he has taken a more "Jillian" approach to the contestants with many more "in your face" encounters. While Jillian can anger some people her method of confrontation had produced solid results. I think Bob sees this and is incorporating more of her techniques into his. Since this is the heaviest crop of contestants I think they will be working them harder. There is a lot of weight they have to move through in a short time.
I do wish the show was less sponsor driven with less emphasis on the BS like drinking milk 3 times a day! Also the packaged deli meat sponsors hold big sway. Still a remarkable show for the psychology involved in breaking people down to build them up again. Very much like military training.
