Farmers Market I love thee

9 bags of baby spinach, 2 1/2 bags of romaine lettuce, 4 cucumbers, 2 bell peppers, 8 carts of strawberries, 2 1/2 carts of blackberries, 2 bags of oranges, 2 bags of apples, 14 corn on the cob, 2 purple onions, 1 green onion, 1 cilantro, 2 quarts of blueberries -- all for under $80

Today is the completion of my 4th week, being 100% on my eating plan.

what keeps me so focused? I have no idea. I just want it so bad this time. I really do. I have tried so many times before but have fell off the wagon and stayed off but not this time. This is the longest time I have been successful at any plan. Usually by now, I would have a fast food binge, but nope not at all. Yes, I do have cravings, I am normal. Hubby and I went to the movies last night and all I could smell was popcorn. It was killing me inside, I really wanted some. But I made sure I was full and didn't bring any spare change to have any, plus I had hubby to keep me accountable and tell me "no". we also, went to the bookstore and I really really wanted a mocha frappaciono, I have been avoiding the bookstore for that reason. I thought about coffee the whole time I was there but I never got any. I hope it just continues to get easier so that I don't have to avoid going places like the movies and like the bookstore. It's weird how a smell can over-power a person like that. But I just remember it can't taste as good as it smells and probably won't taste as good.

Anyways here's to week 5--I'm excited !!!! :D :D :D :D :D

Thank you for sharing, wow you got a lot of good deals at your farmer's market!

I did fall off the bandwagon this weekend, twice, but I won't stay off. I don't have the problem you are having with avoiding the book stores, etc, but I have just about given up on eating out, at least for a time. I think that really doesn't help me because it is very hard to get on plan foods. And, I don't know what I'm going to do about having friends over because I don't feel like I want to ask them to eat this way, yet when the foods are brought into my home that we are not eating......I do fall off the bandwagon. It is so true to keep it out of the house for me.

I hope you enjoy all of that fresh produce......what are you going to do with all those wonderful berries?

That's great, sksamboots! It sounds like you're going to really "do it" this time.

One thing I will be reminding myself of constantly once I start getting out of doors more often is that these places fan their odors at us on purpose. They have a vested interest in making their garbage seem as appealing as possible. They lie to us with every picture of their "food". When you get it there's just no way it's actually gonna look like the poster or what you saw on TV!

Why line the pockets of people who want us addicted to empty calories and ridiculous amounts of fat and salt? My way of coping will be to simply remind myself that I'm a much better person than that. I would never lure someone into a lifetime of illness and an early grave just so I've got more money in the bank or a higher stock price. I'm not going to give one moment of my time or attention any more to people who do. They're evil. I'm not. We're not. Simple as that.

Congratulations on four terrific weeks, sksamboots! Everyone says the first month or so is the hardest, so I'm guessing those frappacinos will get easier and easier for you to resist as time goes on.

I read your earlier post about wanting popcorn at the movies. Boy, have I been there. The last time DH and I went to the movies I put a bag of raw veggies in my purse. When he was crunching on his popcorn, I was crunching on my veggies. I have also taken air popped popcorn with me. At least that way, I don't feel deprived.

sksamboots, I am very proud of you. You are doing it. Plus you are just a wonderful support to all of us. Thanks! Bring whatever you love to those places and do better than their crappy offerings. We should start a thread on what to sneak in the movies and bookstores.

WoW! Look at all this support! It just brings a smile to my face. You all make me so very happy and I'm so joyful to be on the journey with you all!

I have been very busy at work. Trying to catch up. I'm actually at work right now, but just wanted to take a little break to update you all. And my work computer is faster than my at home computer...

So I'm doing great. I'll weigh in tomorrow and we will see what the news is. I started exercising this week. I'm waking up, before work and getting a work-out in on my elliptical machine. I've done an hour 3 days so far this week--so 3 hours of exercise! I'm feeling very good and energized and satisfied!!

Wishing you all well :D
