Anyone here intolerant of corn? Oh, and TMI warning.

I've noticed lately that I get these off symptoms only when I eat whole, unprocessed corn. I seem to be ok with masa harina (I think).

My symptoms are this: I get diarrhea. It seems as if anything I ate didn't really break down. :o

More recently, however, my stomach has been hurting a lot. :-(

Chances are that I have a bug, however, I'd like to hear from other people who are intolerant of corn and see what their symptoms are if they're willing to share?

Thanks!

Corn used to bother me. Then I stopped eating wheat. Now corn doesn't bother me. :duh: If I eat a lot of popcorn it bugs me a little, but that's it.

Thanks Agnes for another good link.

A few weeks ago I went from a Vegan diet to Dr. M's diet and was eating a lot of corn. I love corn. I had a bad Fibo flare up. My daughter thought it might be the corn since I wasn't eating corn products before. Since I have gotten over the episode I am feeling so much better. Now I am going to try some corn and see if it causes a problem.

We are trying to find my Fibo triggers by doing an elimination diet. A few years ago I did an elimination diet and found that beef and hard cheeses were triggers. Haven't eaten them since.

I have to really watch my intake of corn. Fresh, whole corn seems to be the biggest culprit for me, so I have to limit my intake to 1-2 times per week at most. I don't seem to have a problem with ground corn (cornmeal, etc) or popcorn though. "Regular" corn upsets my stomach and and can cause bloating and in severe cases swelling of my hands & tongue (not life-threatening, but still scary). Like I said though, I can eat it in moderation - I just have to make sure that I don't overdo it. :(
