Following my bloodwork the Dr. prescribed 500mg Niaspan specifically to raise my HDL. TC 127 HDL 29 LDL 75 Trig 117 Glucose 92
After reading postings here on the side effects and small gains as well as those about HDL I have decided not to.
On a side note, they recommended several things to reduce the likelihood for flushing. 1. while taking at bed time, eat 2-3 low fat wheat crackers like Triscuit. (the wheat is the key ingredient) 2. Take aspirin an hour before.
