My wife has been a raw vegan for 3 1/3 yrs and last Oct 2011 we started the Whole Foods Plant Based way of eating. I went for my bloodwork last week and my Cholesterol was 115 and Triglycreides were 142.
She went this week and Her Chloesterol is 219, Triglycerides are 396 HDL 32 LDL 108 and Her Vitamin D, 25-Hydroxy is 15.5!!!

Now she did eat a big bolw of watermelon at 6pm the night before the test at 7am but she has not had any animal products in over 4 yrs! Why didn't her cholesterol go down??

Her daily food is:
Breakfast- 1 cup Brn rice cereal with tsp maple syrup cinnamon and almond milk with blueberries
some days she has 8oz of green smoothie with spinach banana blueberry beet.

Lunch baked potatoe veggies carrots amd celery

snack apple or carrot sticks

DInner 1-2 c brn rice veggies lots
snack watermelon

I suggest she cut out the simple sugars. Some of us are sensitive. In order to get my cholesterol down to an acceptable level, I cut out all simple sugars. This includes white flour, all maple syrups and other sweeteners. My only simple sugars are one or two fruits a day.

Works great for me.
