Relief for aching backs

Eight out of 10 Americans have severe back pain at some point in their lives, and for many surgery has been the only viable alternative. Now, new treatments in the works are raising many hopes. Correspondent Martha Teichner takes a look at a non-surgical procedure that doesn't cut or remove the discs, but actually re-grows them.

Shell-belle,
My goodness! Thank you for taking time to share this video; would be wonderful if a technique like this would help my husband!

F1jim,
Thank you for the book recommendation. Took a look on Amazon, and appreciate the author's point that imaging can turn up "abnormalities" that do not cause symptoms. Luckily, in my husband's case, he also has an MRI that predated the nerve problem. Am hoping that comparisions between the recent and previous MRI can help.
