Hello
I have had a lot of problems with digestion and constipation for about the last five years, always ate what ever I wanted, meats dairy products, junk food, etc. For what ever reason that all changed over the last five years, maybe 57 years of all the bad food took its toll. Anyway I have been taking digestive enzymes and Acidophilus for years to help the situation and would like to know if I can eliminate these after being on the McDougall diet for a while or would it be a good idea to continue taking these, any help would be great. Thanks

Hi David!

Personally, I use both of these. I use enzymes for just about every meal, unless it's all raw uncooked food (like a salad).

Probiotics, since you don't get any antibiotics from meat or dairy, aren't as important if your system is working fine. However, if you do take antibiotics from your doctor for something, do the probiotics for a while after you're done taking them, to put the good bacteria back into your system.

Hope this helps.

Barbara
