I broke down and bought a Yonanas on Friday. I was so eager to try it that I used a skanky old banana that I had thrown in the freezer months ago. Boy was that nasty, I think it had absorbed the smells of every food that had been in the fridge and freezer for 6 months, including kimchee.

But I did prep some more bananas and had them Saturday and yesterday...yumm-ee! I bought frozen strawberries and mixed them with bananas, and yesterday had just bananas with some maple syrup and walnuts (ok, not MWL exactly...)

The best review I can give for it is that I felt guilty eating the banana "ice cream"...I used to gorge on those soy ice creams, eating a quart or two each week. I realized that they weren't very healthy, so eating the banana stuff brought on flashbacks. But it's just bananas and other fruit...of course you could really go wild and add hot fudge, nuts, sprinkles, a cherry on top, and a sparkler, if you're so inclined

Tops grocery store packages up "ripe" bananas and sells them for 39 cents a pound. (Because who would want those nasty brown bananas!?) I got 4 pretty big ones for 63 cents. That means that a big bowl of banana "ice cream" (2 bananas worth) costs a whopping 32 cents!

That is a good deal

Btw y'all my favorite so far is lemon raspberry. The recipe calls for 1tbsp of lemon zest. We all thought that was too much.

If anyone is interested in a Yonanas machine but can't afford to new price, please PM me. We've decided not to keep ours because I have a bit of a sensitivity to bananas and hubby just isn't that thrilled about the "ice cream." We're just doing fresh fruit now anyway.
