On the happy herbivore's blog today is a recipe for fat-free English muffins- they look delicious. Anyone try them?

I've made ff homemade English muffins in the past. They are very good and quite rich-tasting compared to the store-bought ones, especially when you consider that English muffins are made with nothing more than a very wet bread dough ... and you can use all sorts of different bread doughs to make whatever flavour English muffins your heart desires!

The recipe on the HH blog isn't for English muffins, however. It's a crumpet recipe (hence the baking soda and rings). Not that it might not be perfectly good, but crumpets and English muffins aren't the same thing.

I saw that recipe pop up on my Facebook page today. I have to say that I probably would not make it simply because it looked so complicated :) but it did look delicious. I am not very daring with recipes, but some of my favorite recipes come from that site because when she says no fat - she actually means it. ;)

Well, now, why no recipes? :) We would love to hear your method of making English muffins, but mine would be a bit altered for a gluten-free option.

I do prefer English muffins to crumpets, personally--I never knew how to make either one, though.

Thanks - I have never known what a crumpet really was. I have made English muffins before and have the rings to do it, but they were baked -- I wondered about these being essentially steamed.

them crumpets, not muffins. English muffins usually have a sh*t tonne of butter in them, what could replace that?
