So the day before I decide that our house needs to go back on the Mcdougall plan, I give my husband a hot chocolate maker!! :?

Anyone have favorite recipes for mixed-up hot drinks? Basically the machine just stirs and heats; I just need ideas for McDougall-friendly cominations to put in.

do you drink rice milk or non-fat soy milk or anything?
I know there's a "Wonderslim" brand cocoa powder that Dr. McDougall mentioned somewhere, it was non-fat I believe. Cocoa powder and whatever milk substitute you use, with sweetener added to taste?
Maybe a little almond flavoring
or vanilla
or mint
or even a little instant coffee to make mocha?

Thanks, Kim, for the ideas! I plan to play around with ratios of "milk," cocoa and Stevia. If I hit on something yummy, I'll post it. If memory serves, soy milk gets more beany tasting when it's heated (or maybe I had a not great brand before?) so I'll start with rice milk.

i have to say if you are going to add a little creamer to it anyway
and something like wonderslim

the vanilla creme steviaclear is very good
and it is available in chocolate flavors milk and dark
with no calories
by wisdom herb

it is only for clear teas that i find stevia not necessarily my 1st choice
but with the milk and cocoa and the flavored extracts it is very good
does it filter?????
you may be able to add a litle teeccino or however you spell it

I love this stuff! It can be hard to find but there are sources to order from online. Here's a link to one, which also includes some customer reviews:

why not try almond milk or oat milk, they tend to be tasty and heated well.

Isn't there a chocolate Soy Milk by Soy Dream?

I have had it at the McDougall program. We drank it up as our secret pleasure.

We have a winner!! Blue Diamond Almond Breeze, chocolate flavor. Very smooth, not "beany" like soy milk, nor "chalky" like rice milk. No HFCS. Just nice and smooth and yummy.

And the calories per cup are still less than cow's milk with Ovaltine, which is the one point that will get my hubby to try it, too.

Thank you, everyone, for all your suggestions!
