Is there a way to get emails from the site say once a month instead of almost every day without having to unsubscribe? I am getting way too much email just about daily.

At the User Control Panel, you can ask to be notified about certain topics and if you receive any PMs. I only requested notifications of PMs, and I rarely get email. I suspect that the OP is subscribed to several current topics. I think her option is to unsubscribe to them.

I am not subscribed to any topics. And not subscribed to any forums. This is real email, not pm's, nothing here in the site. I don't mind getting the monthly newsletter. But I do mind getting almost daily emails for the McDougall live in program, offers to buy DVD's, books, etc. Right now I do not have any money and it seems everyone wants the money I don't have.

It just seems lately that every single place I let send me newsletters, eventually start sending me everything under the sun times 10. When all I want is the monthly newsletter!!

Facebook is the worst...if you "like" something, you end up inundated with tons of stuff and i can't find my family and friends posts. So then I go one by one and block things. I have not blocked Dr.McDougall from there. So just think...I am getting duplicates all the time. Email and Facebook. One has got to go.

After I posted the last message...i went into the control panel and unchecked everything. Hopefully it will work, and no more tons of emails!
Thanks for ideas, I appreciate it.

Oh, that kind of mail. Any of those types of emails, not just from Dr. McDougall, but any other site, is required to have an Unsubscribe link on it. Go to the bottom of the email and click on Unsubscribe.

p.s. Only do that for sites you are familiar with and who would have your email address for legitimate reasons such as receiving free newsletters. For spammers, you are better off blocking. The unsubscribe just lets them know they got a "live" one.

I don't get spam emails. I use MailWasher, it takes care of it. I bounce it all back, any that come through. They never make it to my inbox. All the mail from McDougall has been only for McDougall related things, not spam. It's just too much is all.
I know about the unsubscribe link. I wanted to keep getting the monthly newsletter from here, I just do not want all the extra mail that seems to go with it. But I think since I will not be getting any mail at all now, if I did it right, then I don't get the newsletter. :(

Hover over the unsub link and see where it comes from. I get mail from 2 different places - the regular "nealhendrickson.com" address is where the newsletters and most of the ads for the seminars and get-aways come from, but since the new book was published, I'm ALSO getting mail with the unsub address from "bestnewslettersonline.com" , which I suspect is an address connected with Rodale Press. You can probably feel safe unsubbing from those and expect the newsletters to continue undisturbed.

At least you'll find out next Friday if my suspicion was correct. If not and you don't get the May newsletter, you can curse me out and whip me with a wet noodle. LOL
