Hello
I want to gain strenght but also loose fat. I guess this is a question of calorie restriction. But for an athlete that want to perform great in sports and also loose som fat and gain strenght and endurance.
Sports like soccer etc where you have to be lean but also strong so yo u can be fast.
What recommendations does McDougall etc have in terms of % from calories in terms of protein, carbs and fat ? to reach those results
Superhuman,
Look at it this way. Bodies are built by exercise and adequate nutrition. Rather than look at isolated nutrients, look at the dietary ideal of a whole foods, low fat plant-based diet of starchy vegetables, vegetables, whole grains, beans, fruit , nuts and seeds. Eating a varied diet from this selection will land you at about 10% protein, 10% fat, and 80% carbohydrate - thought this varies daily and is a rough estimate depending on your choices.
You will gain strength and endurance by training for it and eating enough calories to repair and build muscle, which is a slow steady process. To reduce fat stores, be prudent about the fat calories in your diet.
A healthy diet is a healthy diet. Very active people need more calories, yet when you want to lose weight, just play around with the dietary fats and observe your own sensitivities on carbohydrate sources without cutting them.
