I am not sure whether to post this here or food, it's kind of inbetween the two.

I make Mungbean sprouts fairly often. I love it on my salads, and also mix it into my dinners. I have been trying to come up with a simple way to get the shells away from the sprouts. I have also been trying to come up with a way to get the empty shells out and away. It all seems to cling.

I've tried soaking the sprouts in water and then flicking the shells out or scooping them up. But it is near impossible to get them and and if they are still attached to the sprout it is impossible.

Any suggestions. I feel like I am missing something.

One time when we were on vacation in Florida we stopped in an Indian place for lunch. On the buffet was a sprouted mung bean salad. It was very good and I sought to duplicate it at home. Let me tell you, every time I have made it there has been a lot of swearing involved in cleaning off the seed coats. So I really hope someone can answer your question!

Well glad it isn't just me. I can't believe they sell them so cheap in the store if the darn things are so labor intensive. It's like eating popcorn and spitting the hulls out.

There has to be a way.
