I don't look at too many videos because most are made by people who live outside my climate type. (SoCal)

But I absolutely adore looking at seed catalogs, both paper ones, and internet sites. And I want to try them all.

Well the guy I linked doesn't focus on stuff related to where you are in the country he has great info about starting seeds and compost piles and that kind of thing more of a general all purpose tutorial stuff. but i know what you mean about most things being specific to an area.

I have a really small garden area so I used this method of planting:
http://www.squarefootgardening.com/

My squares were made with wooden craft sticks and twine in the dirt. I didn't buy anything off this site or use their soil mix. My garden was fantastic and I can't believe how much I could grow. I fell in love with beet greens for smoothies and for stir-fry. The zucchini was insane, I had 24 plants and discovered zucchini smoothies, so good!

You had 24 zucchini plants? Good lord. How many squares did you use. Why so many?

I always loved the square foot gardening concept. It really makes sense. I kind of tried to do the same, but it didn't quite work out. It sure is easier to weed and pick.

Faith I had eight squares with three plants each. It was very crowded looking, but each plant produced a lot of zucchini. I really like zucchini, it's so good and versatile. Where I grew up we even had a zucchini festival every year.

My garden is in an urban area and we have a lot of squirrels, opossum, and raccoon's that like fresh vegetables as much as I do, I share. I now have 12 square feet of salad greens planted, it finally started growing this week with our warm weather, the arugula popped up first...can't wait until it's ready.
