Jeff, I have the following shake every morning.
1 cup water
1 cup kale or collard greens
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 banana
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
I don’t eat enough fruit and eat less vegetables so I try to make up for that with this shake. I use my Vit-a-Mix so I’m getting the whole food.
I also eat a lot of grains so this is one less meal where I would eat some good cereal or other flour product.
If you would leave out one item or add one item what would it be? Also, your general comment would be appreciated.
Hi GG
Here are my comments
1) I think people should do as much as they can do eat "real" foods like oatmeal, potatoes, rice, etc as close to their natural form as possible and not shakes, smoothies, etc. While I have no problem with having shakes as an occasional part of someones diet, I do not think they should be the focus or a main meal on a regular basis.

2) The best way to eat more fruit and veggies is to just eat more fruits and veggies. Little by little, meal by meal, day by day, variety by variety, just add more into your meals and snacks even if at first it is a limited variety. Just keep adding more of the few you do like
3) If I am reading the above correctly, it is only about 230 calories, which is hardly enough calories for a breakfast for most anyone and especially for someone who might be wanting to gain some weight.
4) My comments in this discussion we had, still apply

Remember, what matters most is someone's overall intake over time and not the analysis of a single food, meal or day's intake.
