Wondering about the use of potassium sorbate as a preservative. Harmful? Helpful? Benign?
There is a company "Pure Vegan" (
http://www.pure-vegan.net) that put out a line of supplements/products that are meant for vegetarians/vegans as they do not use any animal products and make sure nothing is tested on animals. They have a methylcobalamin B12 spray (which I was excited about, as it's a "cyano" alternative) and a Vitamin D2 spray. The other ingredients in the sprays include: purified water, vegetable glycerine, and potassium sorbate.
I hadn't heard anything detrimental about potassium sorbate until recently - are these products safe for use? I understand "vegan" products don't necessarily translate into "all-natural" - I was wondering if the usage of potassium sorbate brings about side effects/long-term health issues that makes using the B12 and D2 spray harmful rather than helpful.
Thank you!
