I notice that Macrobiotics and Dr. McDoughall have much in common: starch based, with veggies and legumes as the main foods. However, Macrobiotics limits or eliminates many vegetables, especially citrus and nightshades. Apparently there are studies linking nightshades with inflammatory problems. I am looking for improved joint function, less inflammation. It has been hard for me to stay on a Macro plan. It uses very little raw food. They also do not like potatoes, which I love. Any comments? Thanks.
