Hi Jeff,

I have a question regarding food combining.

Is it OK to combine spinach, other high oxalic acid vegetables and acid fruits (like cooked tomatoes) with starches (white rice). I base my main meals mainly on white rice and a lot of vegetables (1.2kg a day).

I read on http://chetday.com/fcnecess.html that oxalic acid in spinach and other acids in food almost totally delay starch digestion. I usually add 200g of spinach to my rice meals and feel not very good after the meal.

I would be thankful for advice.
Regards,
Den

Yes

Enjoy your veggies and fruits.

However, white rice is not an "ideal" choice and I would be more concerned with you switching to a intact whole grain then worrying about combining fruits and veggies. :)

Hi Jeff,

Unfortunately I cannot digest whole grains and potatoes comfortably. Something is wrong with my digestion.
However to compensate for white rice problem I add 1.3kg of cooked vegetables a day. This is eating 700 calories of white rice along with 600 grams of boiled vegs.
How do you think is it ok to not to eat whole grains but eat refined and add more veggies for fiber and nutrition?

Yes my meal plan looks similar only in the place of your mentioned vegetables I add 3 pounds of other vegetables- 1.5 pound of broccoli, 0.8pound of sweet corn, half a pound of green beans and green peas, some garlic and onions. I cover all of my nutrients except choline which is 200mg.
