Hi Jeff
i am a huge fan of both Dr. McDougall and Rip's Engine 2 Diet books.

Are there any huge reason I could not use recipes from both books and live healthfully?

I have gone far too long "moderating" and being a vegetarian (sneaking in some animal products here and there -- no flesh, mind you, but not caring if there is dairy or eggs in a certain product). Much to my chagrin my pre-surgery (December) blood cholesterol was a whopping 231!!!! ARGH!

So, again I have been procrastinating, but have set a date to go "all in" as a McDougaller/Engine 2er -- just wanted to see if there were any gotcha's I need to avoid.

I love Rip's recipes (my wife is making the E2 2 Alarm Chili right now, and it smells great) -- and would love to be able to choose from a number of recipe books (both of Dr. McDougalls cookbooks, Engine 2, Dr. Alan Goldhamer's and perhaps your Fast Food DVD). I am not an original chef, so need all the help I can get in the kitchen and being the only vegan in the house I sometimes have to go it alone (except tonight when my wife is being a complete sweetheart for making what will most likely last me a week or two worth of chili!)....

All the best,

Ken

Please do. I do. :)

We used Dr McDougall's recipes, E2 Recipes and my recipes when we did the Meals for Health program and we got excellent results in all the subjects.

Like with McDougall recipes, some can be higher in calorie density so depending on your issues, I always recommend those recipes that are more inline with the MWL guidelines and the principles of Calorie Density.

Perfect! Thanks Jeff, the E2 chili was killer just now. Great way to end the weekend, and leftovers for tomorrow night over a baked potato!
