Hello everyone, it has been a very very long time since I have been here. I have not been McDougalling, but would like to again now.

I would like to find the confidence to do this with this journal :)

Anyways I am 215 pounds right now, and 5"5. My husband and I are now talking about having a child. I would like to get healthier first.

Honestly I am not sure if I should be looking to lose all my extra weight before I get pregnant but I am hoping that's not what is needed. We are thinking of trying in 6 months or so. I know I can lose some weight but not a ton by then.

Anyways I thought I would come here and make a journal. Thanks for reading.

Hello
It is not long ago i started to avoid fats on my vegan diet and myself , like you want to lose some weight before getting pregnant , because i am overweight like 6-8 kilos!
So i have decided to start to eat this way and continue it, if/or once i get pregnant because i believe inside me that is the best i can do to have an excellent pregnancy!
One friend of mine some months ago, developed pregnancy diabetes and that alerted me.
So start your journey , i believe your are on the right track.
For me is a bit tricky to stay loyal to the principals and i do not get it with my first attemption- but i keep on again and again - I have read somewhere here in the Forum that "when I get down 3 times , I stand up 4 times" (or something similar) and i loved that!

Thanks so much ladies :D

I am very sorry I haven't posted, i just returned to my old job and it's been a bit of an adjustment. I am trying to find the time to make some pyrahi and McDougall it because I think it would be easiest to help me stay on track.

Anyways I have Sunday off and will probably cook up a storm. Until then I have been trying my best but have not been able to be as McDougall as I would like without having prepared meals ready to go.

I have been trying to figure out if I should lose some weight before getting pregnant or try waiting until I have lost almost all the my extra weight.

Will post again soon :)

Well right now I am making Curried Indian Potato Stew. I should have enough for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow and maybe the next day. Smells good.

Anyways, I am excited and scared to change. I really hope I have it in me.

You can make the change, pretzel. Just think of it one meal at a time, and try to keep it simple. Once you find a routine, it'll be much easier.

Thanks proverbs31woman.

I didn't realize how much of this change is mental. Last night something shifted for me and now I feel like my mind is really on board. So here I start, a little later than I thought but who cares, I got here.

It should be an interesting day. I have a pot of chilli on, but I am going out for drinks with the girls. This almost never happens, but we are trying to cheer up a friend. Anyways they are going to eat there. My mission today, should I choose to accept it (hahah MI reference) is to only have a drink or two there, no food! I will eat before I leave to hang out and be too full!

Food: (so far)
B: Corn Flakes (not the kiddy kind) and chocolate almond milk

Sadly I failed my mission yesterday. I got in to work and realized that my shift had been changed from 5 hours to 9.5 hours. Anyways I ran short on food and then had no time between work and going to meet my friends so I ate out. I know I will find my grove.

Today's mission: to go the whole day McDougalling

Today I had a break through. I have been on and off, and honestly not making it through any full days. I have been feeling very confused on the "maybe baby" thing even, so I avoided posting.

I am back and trying again. My husband is McDougalling with me now, and we are even making up schedules for the week with meal plans and exercise! It is so helpful! The baby thing still feels scary sometimes, it's such a huge decision. So for now I will focus on my health until we are ready to move forward.

Today was MY FIRST day of staying McD while at work!!!!!! My boss even bought me a chocolate bar, but I have not eaten it, and in fact I gave it away!

I found these awesome "jelly" snacks from our local Chinese food grocery, and they are McD friendly and very tasty. They are very small packages though, so when I have a snack with them I eat more than one. One pack is probably two bites worth of food.

Food:
B: Rice and Chilli
S: 4 lychee cups
L: Rice and Chilli, Arizona Iced Tea
S: 1 nectarine, some cherries, and some grapes
S: 2 Lychee cups
D: 2 bowls of cereal with chocolate almond milk
S: Hummus and veggies

Exercise:
*30 minutes of swimming at the lake after work :D

Strange I just realized my August 15th day didn't post. I kept on track and had a great workout at work though :).

Food:
B: cereal with chocolate almond milk
S: some lychee cups
L: left over mashed potatoes and gravy
S: cherries, and 2 small peach peach cups
D: cereal with chocolate almond milk (so tired from work)

Exercise:
*1 hour of moving stuff around and merchandizing in the store

~~~~~
Today some of my pain happened at work again. It's been a tough past 2 days at work, full of moving stuff and standing longer on the cement floors. I had some pain today in my left foots big toe which feels like a very painful throb every once in a while. Also my feet really hurt. However the shooting pains in my lower legs that usually accompany the big toe throbbing haven't surfaced today.
So today my husband and I went out to Safeway to try a prepare for a trip we are going on in two weeks. I am going to a wedding and to visit my family. I know there will be a lot of meals I will not have control over and will not be McDougall friendly. However we will get right back on track after we get back. I only see my family like this once a year and honestly have no idea how I could go about staying in their homes refusing to eat their meals. (any tips from anyone who visits family and stays with them?)
Anyways today we found that Safeway does sandwiches. Now I am sure the bread is made with a little oil, however, I can get a great veggie's only sandwich with mustard and it tastes great. It may not be perfect but I think it will help on our trip.
So I got called in to work today because someone was sick so it threw me off a little. I had no meat or dairy but there was a little bit of sesame oil in the veggies I ate, and a little oil in the bagel I ate when I got home.
Food:
B: cereal with chocolate almond milk
S: a few lychee cups
L: Safeway veggies sandwich, and a bubble tea
S: some fruit cups
D: big helping of veggies form a Thai place (they says they have corn starch, salt, and a little sesame oil added to their steamed veggies)
S: 3/4 of an "everything" bagel with raspberry jam (a little weird tasting garlic and raspberries, :lol: )
1 Glass of wine
~~~I was a little hungry when I went to bed but didn't think much of it until after 2 hours (and possibly the heat as well) I was still awake and the hunger was getting worse and worse, so I went and had some cereal at 1am, lol.

Exercise:
*none really other than some light duties at work

All in all I think I did alright with the random kink that showed up just before I was about to make a pot of McD healthy food (having to go in to work).

Hope everyone is doing well!
