Hi All, Just had a major wake up call..Went to hospital with chest pains on Fri.am. B/P high(I don't have >B/P)Heart rate>too,feeling generally poor. Also >Blood Sugars. Was kept overnight,they were doing the usual 24 hr.blood work etc.and on a heart monitor. Good news no heart problems.b/p back to normal,hr my usual low rate.

They are treating me for bronchitis,and inflamation of heart lining with antibiotics,also had insulin shots with this stay.Sent me home with metformin :angry: :( I don't really want to start taking this.As I know this woe works. So as of lunch I am back on board. The food at the hospital was pure fat,(eggs,bacon,white bread and rolls,barb-q on bun with greasy oven fries.)I couldn't order anything else as this was a very small NC hospital..I kid you not only 8 beds.But I thank God they are there when I need them.So I have been lurking for awhile,but I'm here to stay.RAS

Welcome back! Glad to hear it wasn't anything too serious and you're getting the treatment for the inflammations.

I know how crappy hospital food can be - after my cardiac cath they sent up chicken parmesan! I was in for 2 days for tests and my husband brought me all my foods form home. They didn't even have decaf tea or coffee, and that was on the cardiac monitoring unit.

Todays weight 170
Lunch- 2potatoes in micro.large salad with vinegar
Dinner- Small plate of cauliflower,oatmeal with peaches.Water
Later- DeCaf.tea RAS

L-String beans,and baked potatoe,iced tea
D-Brown rice mix.corn on the cob.cauliflower and kale. tea,water.

I feel good! Yea! So far no cravings.
B-Oatmeal peach coffee
L-Left over rice,with cauliflower and salad
D-Probably potatoes mashed,salad corn and veggie

Last night my bs was 116,this morning 122(I worked last night so this was not really a fasting.I had baby carrots tea and water.
This is a great improvement...not going to say what it was or has been but lets just say I was very sweet. :unibrow:
B-Oats,peach,tea,1tsp.maple syrup.(I need this to stay away from the salt and artifical sweetners.)
L- Large salad and potatoe
D- Finishing up left over veggies and brown rice.
Befor work I'll have a bananna and some black coffee.
Rice is better for me right now,so once the potatoes are gone,I'll stick to the rice for awhile.Once the weight is off,my bs won't fluctuate too much.

So good to "see" you here!!! I'm sorry to hear about your scare, but I am also very glad to hear that that is all it was...a scare...and a "wake up call" which we all need from time to time! From the looks of your food journal, it worked! You are doing AWESOME!!!!! And it seems to be working! Keep up the good work. :nod:

Great to read that you are doing well. I am with you on the volume eater thing. I, too, found that with the right nutrition my portions are getting smaller. I had to smile when I saw that you like porridge as well. I love the stuff but I need a little sweetness to it. I have it with 1/4 c rice milk. My hubby thinks it is the devil's food. :D
