Rosey!! So sorry about your losses too, it is a part of life. and today is just so cold that except for a car appointment (since someone really got my door good with their car door, and then took off!) I got door dinged while I was in the store buying the most beautiful kale... and came out and saw it immediately. hugely visible too. No note left behind...

Yes!! Indeedy, we are. I guess I do need the moral support of a fellow McDougaller here!!
I have been over eating again today, and need to stop!! and I will I will.

not a bad night all altogether afterall.
Winter weather has arrived and it may get down to 7 degrees tonight.
I soaked my anasazi beans last night, and then let them sprout, cooked them tonight. I declare that I will try eating beans and brown rice again@ son suggested again the oven baking bean casserole and I know I loved them that way.
tomorrow a new day!

today is Uncle buddy's memorial service and the burial at a veteran's cemetery. He and my mom are together. I just heard that my aunt, their sister is not doing well, and with her it is the heart. My mom always said I looked like her, which she meant, too fat, esp in the face.

Yesterday I made a nice pot of veggie soup and had the brown rice. and oatmeal for Bf as usual. I added plenty of greens to my soup bowl.
today so far it has been oatmeal and cherries, and making up a pot of lentil soup with greens on top, I will add them at the end to the bowl. I am doing good. I got to pool exercises yesterday and will again today. I love the water exercising!!
Kuddos to all out there who are McDougalling, and good luck to us all on the quest of good health!

Made up a lentil soup from teh E2 recipes and then it was just too bland, and decided to add some more spices to it, so I looked up the lentil ranch vegan dip on line and added it's spices , like cumin, more bragg's and lemon juice, and instead of the cayenne I added some jerk that son made up.

Roasted some reds and added rosemary to them.
I do not even miss the oils at all.
walked the dog in park, and all is well today!

Good Morning to you all, and thanks Rosey for writing to me for encouragement here.
I have registered for the next Adventure in Healthy Eating, it will start on Jan 25th and will be 3 minutes away, or 5 tops... pretty cool this time around.
My new family PCM, Dr Liz George will speak and then the vegan meal will be free, the paper stated, and the sponsors are Summit Health, and 2 fire halls here. It is so nice to have some support and son and I going to be counselors, as Dr Liz had asked me and I said sure!! In my last healthy adventure, there was only a few emails from the counselors, ...... and a few charts,
Last night's lentil soup and the veggie soup will be my staples this weekend, along with my brown rice and bragg's.
BF: baked grapefruit and my beloved oatmeal with apple and cinn.
L: will be soup and green salad, which I will make up before I leave for town.
D: will be more of my soup!! and roasted reds!

LoriJenny--
The lentil soup with the added spices, was just wonderful. Much better!
yesterday was a god day, and all went well. I did not exercise enough however, the food went well.
BF: oatmeal and apples, cinn baked grapefruit too...
L: big mixed greens salad, with a mustard and apple vinegar dressing I made up on the spot, as we were somewhere for a get together with our son's future in-laws. Nice time and she has always been very respectful of how I eat too. that is very nice of her, thanks! there were apple cut up, plenty of salad stuff like mushrooms, tomatoes and other items I won't eat, but she did a nice spread. also had some baked beans, wow!
D: my veggie soup from frig, and had 2 small bowls to finish it off.
She has told me that I look so wonderful, or something like that, and it is amazing to me as well, I am doing this and it is not killing me, if I am too hungry, then I can always eat some brown rice or some cut up potatoes from the frig, and pronto, the hungry monster goes away.
Going animal product free, it the easiest, fastest way to feel great, and lose wt, it is truly a small miracle in my life.

BF: steel cut oats, and half a grapefruit baked.
went to fitness center and did water exercises, went to store, bought new kale, etc...
came home son ( he has Mondays off) and had a huge salad, with mustard vinegar, etc dressing, it is great BTw...
went to G'burg and to natural food store for a few items, like bulk steel cut oats, and some veggie broth powder ...
then out for a lunch with Dear son, how can i say no to son who led me into this WOe any time ??? then home to make dinner for us all,
DH is doing so well on his plan of no more alcohol (beer in his case) he is doing it and I am so proud of him. He is determined to not end up with cirrhosis like my dear uncle had, it is a sad and horrid way to die. So I am praying that this time he will beat it, and it is his choice, not any one else's too. But he is doing it!! wow.
I was very successful in avoiding all the usual traps of food, and candy toady. All I need to do is remember how licorice does my colon, and any candy causes such discomfort and gas... enuff I tell myself, you have no one but yourself to blame if you eat that non-food ever again. I am also a lot bigger than any of that stuff too!! I did not eat the candy!! hurray!
I am up late writing this tonight, since there were 3 long rifle shots heard in the distance and they woke up the dog, who barked and so here I am!!
So it was a good day, and all is well in my world today too!

lucky me!!  :) :)

So proud of myself , for going out to a dinner mtg and had only a baked potato and a nice garden salad. Was not the least bit tempted to order animal products ......I did have to send the salad back once since it had the cheese, and that was after the nice waitress even toid me she was lactose intolerant too. Some of the ladies wee dismayed that I has only getting what I got, but then they dug into their hugely high fat animal meals. Except one, who is a very small eater and has MS too. She eats low fat and has mentioned that on occasion that it may help her MS. My heart goes out to her......
made nori wraps again, and they are so good, and so easy. more brown rice too
had my oatmeal, and went for a very long walk with dog at park.
A very good day here.

Had everything put away, and cleaned up for a change too
Plan for tomorrow is to have some of son's bean casserole and kale!! and my lentil soup... yummy

What a blasted day, I overate today and sure do regret it now. I started to eat left over candy.... and it was from Halloween, those peanut butter kisses of all things.... Now I am done! But oh do I ever feel bloated and icky in the tummyh.
but besides that I did have a good enough day food wise. BF: one grapefruit, and my oatmeal with apples, leftovers there too. then I left the pot on the stove so I could grab another spoonsful if I was hungry ..... shich I seem to be too much of these days.
L: greens, and brown rice
D: I had made up a new soup today.... navy bean soup, that came out great. Son has our fav recipes all organized and I just used one that was good last winter. a ton of spices, and it was great. I added some red pots and barley to it and it ended up that I was the only one who had any. Plenty in refrig now
DH is doing great on his plan of no alcohol, switched to sierra mist natural and that seems to be the trick and as amazed as I am, I knew he was capable of this... he keeps busy as soon as he comes home from working, and tonight it was replacing hinges on 3 doors !!
Walked dog at park, a long time, good weather today!
3 day weekend, and for once I am looking forward to it!

plan for the day, is not to over eat anything... drink more water or more celery, which I cut up all the time to snack on anyway... love celery!
All is going to be well, I just claimed that for myself.
BF: banana, oatmeal
L: eating a big salad today, some soup
D: and the soup for dinner it was a good and thick soup, and Dh took some of it for his lunch!

up early again today, at 440 am. so I got started on the house work, and had my usual steel cut oats with a banana this time. For lunch is was greens, and celery. then for dinner I threw together a mix of whatever was fresh and or left over in the frig, like asparagus, spinach, mushrooms, and some cooked cauliflower, and then added that great mustard orange sauce that is from somewhere vegan, or is a McD one. It is like a sweet and sour sauce for a dressing and works great on any veggies too, as far as I am concerned. DH has some of that too, and declared he did not feel well. I hope he is ok, I told him that he body is adjusting to the new deal ( no beer) and I hope he goes back to only seltzer and can give up the sierra mist. He thought it was an all natural fruit juice, and I read the label to him. Plenty of sugar in that puppy !!
went to gym 1 hr of exercise in pool !

up early again, dog gone it!! exercised and then drank only my water with lemon so far. oats wil be later on.
I will be doing my best to stay the course for the wedding date for son #2 May 27th. I want to look great, who wouldn't?
I plan on starting a food journal on paper today... as a challenge to never cheat with any vegan junkies.... and no nuts, etc....
The Healthy Eating Challenge that is the next community wellness program started my new doctor that I switched it starting next week, on the 25th! I was asked to be a team leader, and said yes!! I just got an email that says the place of the kick off meeting has changed due to the huge response to the article in the newspaper, and that is so cool. Many will start, but not all will want to stick to this... but it will be wonderful to be with other like minded peeps again, like last yr challenge.
and this will be a much shorter drive!! Hurray for that in the winter.
I ate far too much bread again yesterday and I banish that from my kitchen as of now!!
my resolve is steel now!
