up early , way too early like 339 am, since DH leaves around 4 am. I hate to fall back asleep, and then remember all those dreams. So up early, and getting a few things done too.
Had to stop by and read a few journals for inspirations, and katydid's does that for me. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace to get healthy and lose the all the extra pounds hanging on me. Yes!! I will!
You all have a good day out there.
BF has been one plum, half an orange, and a cup of rooibos tea. love that tea!

Ahh, another nice day for me. I walked the dog 2 days in a row, and seemed to have a ton of energy too. I made up a great veggies soup, with cabbage and potatoes and made millet to go with it. Last night was pot luck # 3 and although it is was not as well attended it was great. Love being with other vegans. I made up a rice pilaf using a veggie broth and added some cut up veggies, and took a pix, will have to post it oneday. My son made up potato wedges, in teh oven on 450! they were gone completely. Everyone loves potatoes. It is just a universal truth. Nice time, for all, but I am really tired after it this time.
got to fitness center, and did the machines, and half of the water class, since it was half over. then I tried to get in the steam room, but it was just too hot this time. there is a trick to fool the thermostat and it was just super hot. then I did go to the monthly luncheon, and had only the salad bar stuff that was McD ok, and of course some were asking me about how I eat... well,, what can I say, it is this way or die of something dread and I am not going to get cirrhosis if I can help it.. I was not going to go, but then at last minute decided to go ahead. but anyway.... then had my left over sou for dinner with millet.
not a bad day at all!

Nice day all in all...
Ihave been eating some of sons' pinto bean casserole, that is so yummy, made from my sprouted beans, baked in oven, and I put some on a oil free pita flat bread. then some oatmeal and an orange, and a plum. then held me over til after lunch. I zipped around the mall looking for items I need and every single time I looked at myself in morror trying on something I was struck by my moving skin.... my body is really slimming down, but the loosening skin is there too. at least the fat is not solid I think. Hey wt was back to 175.0 this am. was I happy to see that again. Now to keep going down too. The holidays are long over, and I know what to do, so..... I will do it!

Feeling great this am. teh wind is not howling anymore, and I can get outside.
Yesterday I ate a lot of my pinto bean casserole, that I make up a lot of later. My own, sprouted, cooked beans, and then after smashing them somewhat, I made a mix to put in the oven to cook all liquid out of it. What liquids?? some veggie broth liquid, and then some sherry, onions, 2 cloves of garlic, chopped up cilantro and parsley and it is yummy. I have never been one to like pinto beans, but made this way it is great!
Eating my steel cut oats daily---still, that is------, and now a grapefruit daily. Need to make up another good soup today, as I finished up the last of my cabbage potato, carrots kind of soup last night. I really need to continue and never ever look back and enjoy the good life of a vegan. Some people have been simply amazed by how I look, can not believe their eyes, and yet I want to look slimmer for the wedding of our middle son coming up end of May.
I had another experience of "is that all you eat?) on Friday, at a little luncheon for our pool classes bunch. a lady sitting across from me, was simply amazed by my plate of teh plain items from the salad bar (only) at Ruby Tuesdays'
DH is up early and going to finish a project of timing in front of our (new) fireplace insert today. very nice indeed.
Just started up a big pot of veggies for a veggie stock so I can make a nice minestrone soup today and also heating up more pinto bean casserole, with more beans so we can have our bean burritos for lunch.
T'will be a great day today!

Hi Carollyne...I have been looking for a good Minestrone soup. Do you have a recipe or do you make it from scratch cause your so good at that. I don't know about making my own stock but I can buy that. What else do you put in it?

I read a long from time to time and am glad you do well. It has been very windy here too, but today it's somewhat calm, although tomorrow it is supposed to be windy again. I cut my hike short yesterday because of the wind and how cold it was. It was gorgeous for a couple of days like summer even before that.

I was wanting to go to Ruby Tuesday's for my husband's birthday, but we were with a group of 7 so I got voted down. He didn't care where we went. Have your tried the spaghetti squash at Ruby Tuesday's.

hello again, thanks for stopping by to Rosey, Christine, and Gramma Jackie! so nice to feel like someone out there is writing to me and so on!
I am very much still out here in McDougall land! I am sitting here, listening to that lecture from Melanie Joy, Carnism from the last ASW at McDougall Center. I just got the email, so had to look and see what was up for free. It is well worth listening to. She is a tremendous presenter. Love it! I am rapidly crossing over to the ethical side of veganism.
Tonight is the last pot luck of the Engine 2 challenge that son and I are involved with as team leaders. it was been a lot of fun, for sure, but I am about pot lucked out. this last week we had a tag team of questions going on emails, and that was fun. One of my team members was picking my brains, as she put it, and so I had fun passing the ??s all around and we had a chance to all answer them. I always looked answers on line and gave a link as back up. anyway, tonight I am bringing my famoue sprouted bean casserole and a hummus!! there is just so much food, that I am overwelmed by it!!

Hi Rosey, hey did you notice that I finally got enough workers in my dungeon?? I thought it would never happen, but it did!
Tonight's pot luck was great again. It was ask the doc night again, and she did mention to the audience that we should be reading other author/doctors like John McDougall. I have to agree on that one.
this week I have managed to really stay away from a few things that I liked to mind too much of, such as a few pretzels, a triscut or 2 etc. I am hoping that it will tweak my HBP down. I just got a refill on it, and since I was taking my DH stash of pills, since he never would take them, then I thought maybe they were too old to be effective... so I had a new presc. faxed in and then I just got a ltr from the supplier of pills, and the letter said that the supply was unavail now, to see my provider for another script! I am wondering truly if God is telling me something here.
I Need to just stay calm and relax more I thin. these late pot luck, are so much fun, and so many of the peeps there had already had heart attacks, etc.

hate it when I sleep too long! it was almost 630 when I got up. I was so awake in the middle of the night, and I declare I heard a mouse somewhere in the room.... but I decided to run a few errands and then go to BB's. nice day so far, and managed to get a lot of great produce and only spend $35 due to the bargains there. more potatoes and of course the fruits and veggies. Got a few items for Dh too.
I did not buy the few candy items that I looked at too intently and then all of sudden when I was loading up the bags into the car, I noticed there was this cookie granola layered box of whatever, and I know I did not buy it intentionally either. So I decided to not tempt myself, and so I took it back inside for a refund, something I have never done there. I think it must have been the lady before me, as I do not even recall putting it up on the counter to check thru. weird, huh? Plus it was out of date by almost a yr.
the nice thing about BB's is seeing the Amish who work there, such hard workers and today I noticed a horse and buggy tied up in the parking lot and someone has left here 3 gorgeous kids in the buggy, open door, (but an enclosed contraption) The little faces, looking out and the one boy had a straw brim hat and the 2 girls were wearing a scarf ----they were precious from a distance.
then at home I walked up to mailbox and there was my neighbor and she mentioned to me how much slimmer I looked and that she wanted to tell me that it looked as tho I really lost wt! so cool!
Incentive for real!!
have a good day to all out there!

Yep I noticed that. I joined a group for castleville neighbors so I have friends on my facebook that I marked as just acquaintances since they are only castleville friends.

That's cool that you have that group. I'm going to go to vegetarian/vegan potluck that is local to me here soon. though I'll have to watch the ingredients since not everyone is on no added oil.

Rosey---- :-D hi there! Yes it is nice to have had those vegan
pot -lucks to got to but now we just have graduation, and it is nice to know that it is almost over. Having it at the same restaurant as last time and son wants to go again, do not know what the turn out will be like since Nice to have met more peeps like me too. so many older folks, in the community near us, that are doing it strictly due to health reasons. so many heart attacks, stents, angina, plavix, metaflorim, or some diabetes meds. I sincerely hope to never ever get there myself  ! this WOE gives me that hope that I never will. Yes!!

Dissolution-- :-D yes it sure does!! She lady has 5 kids and is a thin person, but did medifast to get there, and has kept it off for 3 yrs now, they recently did a family thing at her church that was called a Daniel fast and essentially went vegan for 3 wks. Rice milk for the kids and no meat/ dairy. Must have been a challenge. She was talking to me about her worries about the meat and the antibiotics, hormones, etc, how do you know what you are going to get ---- they are going to watch Food Inc with their 5 kids, oldest in 5th grade now, and she asked me if I had seen it. they have no TV for cable in the house, but they do watch some DVDs I guess. I told her about the netflix streaming and told her I do have forks over knives if they ever wanted to see it! It was so nice to get that compliment for sure!

Well up in the middle of the night again, about 1 am, and let out the dogie, and I realized that my usual stiffness and so on, is letting up for sure, no doubt due to my diet. Feeling better all the time, but not completely done with arthritis either. My L knee is what it is!
Going to see an overcast day I think, but thankfully no tornadoes coming this way, like in Illinois lately!!
