Hooray for you, tall girl! I'm green with envy! I had a huge appetite this week, and so I am now lagging behind you--grrrr  !

Oh well, since I am so much shorter than you, my only consolation will be to continue to lose once you get to your goal!!!

I am seriously very happy for you!

Maybe . . . My plan is to just keep eating the same way until weight loss stops. I.e., if my body wants to go below my goal, so be it.

Here's a pic from this past weekend of me wearing my friend's sari! She's Indian and we went to a local Diwali dinner and show (dancing, etc.) so she let me wear one of her GORGEOUS silk saris! It was hard at first b/c I was afraid I was going to step on it and ruin it, but I got the hang of it after a while! Of course, the food was NOT on plan at all. I ate only veg items of course, and avoided the paneer (cheese). So did my best!

Looks gorgeous. Yeah I wouldnt wear it either. I'd trip and fall and not only be laying on the ground, I'd have it all unwrapped so I'd be laying there naked. And that would not be pretty.

Trust me -- I was utterly terrified!! But I had a real Indian to show me how to walk. The key is to kick the pleats out in front of you as you go and, of course, to pick up the front when going up or down stairs. It was hard at first but got easier and easier. If I wore one every day I would get good at it in no time and so would you!

It also can't come unwrapped, LOL, b/c it's pinned. First you put on a plain cotton petticoat (mine was pink) that you tie REALLY tight. Then the corner of the sari is tucked in and wrapped around. Then my friend made huge pleats with her hands and tucked the pleated section into the petticoat waistband (why it has to be tight). Then she PINNED the pleats into the petticoat w/ a safety pin. Then the rest of the sari, the pallu, comes over the shoulder and pleated, and it's pinned there, too.

So it would be impossible to come undone. :)

Current weight: 147!

I was on a plateau for much of Nov.--getting close to the goal, so that happens. But am losing again now--YAY!

I'm going to take another pic soon and I'll post it. :)

Hey ET, I was going to give you a big WOOO HOOO on the weigh-in thread, but there were a lot of comments in between, so I'm coming here to give to a HUGE

WOO HOOOOOOO

instead! Congratulations! You just HAD to lose ahead of me, didn't you?

Oh well, you are spurring me on...I did not lose an ounce in November, and I see a direct correlation to my trying recipes for Thanksgiving, and then eating them (what are you going to do, throw them out?). I started planning the meal because we were having my daughter and another couple, so I wanted to throw a bash with mostly MY food. However, I am not ready for regular plan food, that is obvious! I had too much sugar-date-etc., and too much rice milk-flour-corn starch.

Oh well, probably more information than you needed--my point is, I am truly very happy for you! Woo Hoo again!

Just don't make them at all! Only make things you CAN eat--only make McDougall-friendly recipes.

I think that those of you who are married, have kids, etc. have it harder than us single folk. However, IMO you should have a sit-down discussion w/ the people you live with and say, "I'm doing this b/c I want to be HEALTHY and live a long time. You need to help me, not hinder me." And if I were you I would make my home a McDougall-only zone. If someone wants meat or cheese or whatever they can go out to eat. <shrug> If they want to have food made for them, they can eat what you cook!

HANG IN THERE!

IKWYM about recipes. I truly just don't do them anymore--that's why trying them in November was such a road block for me. These were all McD "12-day-type" recipes, but what I find is if I've made something tasty, I will eat it, and most of the stuff that makes the recipes non-MWL is appetite-stimulating. I'd rather do what I do--throw the elements together and add some herbs, or whatever, and eat it! I get satisfied, instead of stimulated.
