Eating for Heath in 2010!

Postby rebecca » Tue Jan 05, 2010 12:45 am

New Year, new journal. I've had plenty of ups and downs with this way of eating but some how I keep coming back. I do realize that this is the best diet to have a healthy long life. So raise your water glass and join me in eating for health. Cheers :-D

One of my goals for the new year is to have one green smoothie everyday! I find this an easy way for me to eat kale and chard.
I'll be doing MWL during the week and the regular plan on the weekends.

I had a hard day yesterday but I :) did not self sabotage by eating my feelings. :) Today I feel good. I still can't seem to wake up earlier so I can fit exercise in. I'll need to exercise tonight.

Hey Rebecca,
What do you put in your green smoothie? I tried kale before but it was too strong a taste. I like it in soup though. Sometimes I puree it in my chili and the kids can't see it. Do you disguise it with a certain fruit?
Good job not sabotaging yourself.

P.S. I used to work on Hotel Circle. Met my hubby in SD.

Hi Stella,
Small world. :-D I use chard in my smoothies. My fav is what I call a black and blue. Chard leaves, blueberries, frozen bananas, little apple juice. It looks like tar but tastes great. I used kale this morning and it was a little too strong. Another good one is pears, ginger, banana, greens. Banana is the best at covering up the greens taste. Happy smoothie making! :)

It is time for me to take down all the holiday decorations. I've put it off long enough. I've been reading Prevent & Reverse Heart Disease. Good stuff to reinforce what I already know is true.

Have a great day, keep it up.

I found Prevent & Reverse Heart Disease to be a great reminder and reinforcer too. Plus, Esselstyn's recipes are really very good! Keep up the great job!

Thanks for stopping by Stella and weespeck. :-D I've been so busy with school work that I haven't posted in a while. I am glad to say that so far I have lost 8lbs.(in 4 weeks). My goal for this up coming week is to up my workouts to 6 days a week. I've been eating 5 mini meals a day and I'm so amazed at how this is keeping me full and happy. Hope everyone is having a great day. :)

Thanks sksamboots :D It has been raining here. Time for hearty bean soups and salads for dinner. Soaking some pinto beans now. Not quite sure what I'm going to do with them. Maybe chili ?
Wishing everyone a happy Tuesday

I'm kicking it up a notch. I just joined the MWL 12 week group! I'm just going to see what happens when I'm on plan 100%. I am hoping to get rid of my high blood pressure meds once and for all.

Thanks sksamboots! :) Still hanging with the 100% MWL group. I woke up today with a head cold. I just want to eat fruit. Made a green smoothie which was pure liquid sunshine. I just love a good smoothie in the morning. I just might have one for lunch or I'll get a potato and side salad from Wendy's. Tonight will be potato and white bean soup Italian style with lots of garlic. :P
