New Year, new journal. I've had plenty of ups and downs with this way of eating but some how I keep coming back. I do realize that this is the best diet to have a healthy long life. So raise your water glass and join me in eating for health. Cheers
One of my goals for the new year is to have one green smoothie everyday! I find this an easy way for me to eat kale and chard. I'll be doing MWL during the week and the regular plan on the weekends.
I had a hard day yesterday but I did not self sabotage by eating my feelings. Today I feel good. I still can't seem to wake up earlier so I can fit exercise in. I'll need to exercise tonight. B: Green Smoothie , coffee L: Green salad, sweet potato D:Steamed veggies and brown rice
Hey Rebecca, What do you put in your green smoothie? I tried kale before but it was too strong a taste. I like it in soup though. Sometimes I puree it in my chili and the kids can't see it. Do you disguise it with a certain fruit? Good job not sabotaging yourself. Stella P.S. I used to work on Hotel Circle. Met my hubby in SD.
Hi Stella, Small world. I use chard in my smoothies. My fav is what I call a black and blue. Chard leaves, blueberries, frozen bananas, little apple juice. It looks like tar but tastes great. I used kale this morning and it was a little too strong. Another good one is pears, ginger, banana, greens. Banana is the best at covering up the greens taste. Happy smoothie making!
I'm on plan and planning to stay that way! My cats woke me up early(5:30 am). Whats a girl to do but make a big pot of minestrone soup. I was craving it so now I have a great lunch to take to work. B: Green Smoothie, coffee L: Minestrone soup D: steamed veg and brown rice S: oatmeal
It is time for me to take down all the holiday decorations. I've put it off long enough. I've been reading Prevent & Reverse Heart Disease. Good stuff to reinforce what I already know is true. B: Green Smoothie, coffee L: minestrone soup D: mashed potatoes w/ mushroom gravy, steamed veggies S: applesauce muffins
Hey your doing great. I looooove minestrone soup. My husband requests it every time I say what should we have for dinner? We're doing the decoration take down tomorrow. Ugh, it's time huh? Have a great day, keep it up. Stella
I found Prevent & Reverse Heart Disease to be a great reminder and reinforcer too. Plus, Esselstyn's recipes are really very good! Keep up the great job!

I am but a wee speck in the big picture of the universe.
Thanks for stopping by Stella and weespeck. I've been so busy with school work that I haven't posted in a while. I am glad to say that so far I have lost 8lbs.(in 4 weeks). My goal for this up coming week is to up my workouts to 6 days a week. I've been eating 5 mini meals a day and I'm so amazed at how this is keeping me full and happy. Hope everyone is having a great day.
Thanks sksamboots It has been raining here. Time for hearty bean soups and salads for dinner. Soaking some pinto beans now. Not quite sure what I'm going to do with them. Maybe chili ? Wishing everyone a happy Tuesday
I'm kicking it up a notch. I just joined the MWL 12 week group! I'm just going to see what happens when I'm on plan 100%. I am hoping to get rid of my high blood pressure meds once and for all.
Thanks sksamboots! Still hanging with the 100% MWL group. I woke up today with a head cold. I just want to eat fruit. Made a green smoothie which was pure liquid sunshine. I just love a good smoothie in the morning. I just might have one for lunch or I'll get a potato and side salad from Wendy's. Tonight will be potato and white bean soup Italian style with lots of garlic.
Staying on MWL -which is hard a some times but I am getting my blood work done in March and that has been keeping me on track. Planning on cooking a stew and soup today and throwing some subs in the oven. B: oatmeal w/ bananas L: split pea soup, green salad, potato D: green salad, Caribbean stew S: artichoke dip on rice cake w/cheery tomatoes and sprouts
